A’mari Dj Mona Lisa Still Feeling “Chest Pains” After Florida Car Accident
Social media sensation Amari “Dj Mona Lisa” has said that she is still feeling “pains in her chest” as she attempts to recover from injuries sustained during a motor vehicle accident in Florida last week. The Neko singer and her family visited a chiropractor on Monday morning to fully assess their medical conditions in the wake of the accident.
“I am feeling more than just pain, not just the pain and weakness, it is the trauma of the whole experience, like what the heck was that?” Amari said. “I have terrible chest pains so most likely they will do an EKG later on.”
“The doctor is giving us personal care, the hospital visit was to just ensure that my vitals were stable, now I am finding out what the after-effect of the accident. My neck is damaged, the doctors did x-rays, they gave me and Destiny an electrical appliance to help relieve pain in our muscles. We have to do therapy five days a week for the next two weeks and then three days a week after that, then they will reassess us,” Amari said.
She is confident in the abilities of the team of doctors but she fears that there may be long-term physical damage from the accident.
“I am bending when I am walking so I got a brace for my back. The x-rays showed that Destiny’s spine got dislocated, the doctor also said Destiny’s nerves may be damaged. Destiny’s knees are giving out on her sometimes…we are going through different doctors. As long as I lay down, I am alright, but otherwise, there is a lot of pain and weakness, chest pains, and I can’t do much right now,” she said.
The accident occurred on US Highway 98 North last Wednesday, according to the crash report from the Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Traffic Crash Records department in Tallahasee, Florida. The vehicles collided in the right turn lane on Crevasse Street.
The accident occurred with a BMW X3 and an SUV that Amari was travelling in.
“The internet is stressing me out cause hardly anyone believes my story so I get no sympathy. I had to turn all my Instagram comments off,” she said.
In the accident report, Amari is referred to as P4 (passenger 4) who “closed her eyes as if in a catatonic state and refused to answer questions for EMS and fire”.
She was eventually transferred to Lakeside Regional Health for observation, the report said.
“They kept making me sit and stand . I guess my family members thought that was the best way for me not to lose consciousness but it was too much to bear as I was dizzy and weak,” Amari recalled.
