Buju Banton, Kanye West To ‘Reunite’ On New Song Off French Montana Album
Buju Banton and Kanye West are set to reconnect on Stand United, a new song off French Montana‘s upcoming mixtape, Mac and Cheese 5.
The project, which was set for release today but has been reportedly pushed until March, is the fifth installment of Montana’s Mac & Cheese series. It is being led by the singles Good Summer, Wish U Well with Swae Lee, I Can’t Lie with Kodak Black and London On Da Track, and Okay with Lil Baby and ATL Jacob. See the complete track listing below.
Stand United is one of three Kanye West features on the 23-track project and the rapper’s second collaboration with Buju Banton, with whom he previously teamed up for Believe What I Say from his album, Donda (2021).
Believe What I Say had peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later certified Gold in the United States, Banton’s highest chart entry to date and his only single to be certified for exceeding 500,000 units in the country.
In 2020, Kanye had visited Jamaica and was seen in the studio with Banton along with Rocafella Records, co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke and rapper Saint Jhn. The Ni–as In Paris rapper had also teamed up with the Buju Banton Foundation to donate computers and chairs to the Sunbeam Children’s Home and the Mount Oliver Boys Home on the island.
In November 2023, Banton collaborated with rapper Lil Wayne on Hallelujah Heaven, which also featured Shabba Ranks.
