Dancehall artist Malie Donn has expressed his condolences following the death of a 19-year-old woman, who was shot and killed while trying to attend his show at the Jungle Resto Bar in Mississauga, Ontario, last night.

The woman, whose identity has not yet been released by police, was standing on the sidewalk outside the bar near Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue, when the shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m.

According to CBC, Peel Regional Police have not yet made any arrests or released suspect descriptions, but they believe the incident to be isolated and have assured the public there is no further risk.

Malie took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday to offer his support to the victim’s family and those injured.

“I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family of the female who was shot and killed last night while trying to attend my show and to the innocent injured,” he wrote along with the prayers and heartbreak emojis.

He added the tags, “#heartbreaking #prayersup.”

It was Malie Donn’s first show in Canada. Instagram videos shared by the artist himself revealed a packed nightclub buzzing with a sold-out crowd earlier that night.

The shooting, according to initial reports, appears to have occurred after Malie arrived and had already taken the stage.

According to Malie, he performed his first sold-out show in New York two weeks ago. He’s expected in Boston on February 16 and Hartford, Connecticut on February 25.

Malie Donn, whose real name is Kimalie Hylton, hails from the Waterford community and is known for songs such as V6, Hennergy, Little Miss Grippy, Throat Goat, Crook, and Bank.
