Collie Buddz’s ‘Take It Easy’ Ends His No. 1 Streak On Billboard Reggae Album Chart

Bermudian reggae artist Collie Buddz’s fourth studio album, Take It Easy, has opened at No. 10 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, breaking his previous streak of three No. 1 debuts on the weekly listing. 

Released on September 29 via Ineffable Records/Harper Digital, the 12-track album was produced by Collie Buddz himself, along with his collaborator J Vibe.  “The creative and recording process took about 3.5 years,” He told DancehallMag in an interview last month. “I know it seems like a long time, especially nowadays, but you can’t rush the creative process.”

“One of my biggest aspirations is to continue to make quality records that are timeless. I don’t ever just want to release music for the sake of having something out there. Plus, with our heavy touring schedule, sometimes it’s hard to find the groove. I had a lot of fun during this whole process and good news is, I am already working on my next one!”

His self-titled debut, Collie Buddz, had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums in the week following its release in 2007.  The album, which included the hits Come Around, Blind To You, and Mamacita spent six weeks at No. 1 and 78 weeks on the chart overall.

Good Life (2017) also debuted at No. 1, spending three weeks at that position and 24 weeks on the chart overall.

Hybrid (2019) debuted at No. 1, spending three weeks at that position and 19 weeks on the chart overall.

His Blue Dreamz (EP) (2015) and Cali Roots Riddim (2020) peaked at No. 3 and 7, respectively.   

Meanwhile, back on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart dated October 14, Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers continued its reign at No. 1 for the 194th non-consecutive week.

Shaggy’s Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection is at No. 2, followed by Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection at No. 3, and Byron Messia’s No Love at No. 4.

Stick Figure’s Set In Stone, Wisdom, and World On Fire albums are at No. 5, 6, and 9, respectively.

UB40’s Greatest Hits album is at No. 7, while Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock album is at No. 8.
