Nigerian-American actor and singer Rotimi was nothing less than a musical treat during his debut performance in Jamaica at the Lovers and Friends concert at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St. Ann on Saturday night.

Rotimi, who is widely known for his roles in the Starz series Boss as Darius Morrison and Power as Andre Coleman, arrived on the island on Friday at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James.

Though it was his first time on the island, he seemingly got acquainted with some Dancehall favorites like Serani, Busy Signal, and Gyptian, whom he invited on stage for surprise cameo performances.

Once the crowd heard, “It’s it’s it’s Serani…” screams echoed across the venue as the intro signaled that he would be coming to perform his Platinum Certified hit No Games.

Gyptian opted to perform his popular 2010 single Hold Yuh, which was met with similar endorsement from the patrons.

Next, it was Busy Signal’s turn.

He greeted Rotimi enthusiastically with “Bombocl**t Rotimi! Big up yuhself bredda” and performed the original version of Stay So, but also did a live dubplate for the guest artist.

“Yuh cyaa diss Rotimi wi nuh matta bout you an’ wi nuh care bout dat…” he freestyle.

Rotimi described his linkup with Gyptian and Serani as “a dream,” in a video clip posted to his Instagram.

During an interview with Good Vibrations Entertainment upon arrival, the In My Bed singer said it was ironic that he was only just visiting the island, when Bob Marley was his favorite singer.

“I’m so mad at myself not not being here sooner. This will be my first time. I heard it’s amazing, and the fact that Bob Marley is my favourite artist, ever! It’s embarrassing that this is my first time,” he said.

The singer stayed at the Ocean Coral Spring hotel in Trelawny and by all indications, was a fan of the scenery.

“First time in Jamaica and I get to perform and do what God made me to do. Being in Montego Bay; it’s beautiful, it’s calm, great energy, great spirit but tonight is gonna be a movie. But I don’t think y’all get it man. The fact that I’m able to just go somewhere, give my gift, glorify God, have fun…I enjoy this man. I enjoy this moment. I’m just taking it all in,” he said in a clip on Saturday morning.
