Silk Boss Deals With Betrayal On New Song ‘Sorry’

Dancehall artist Silk Boss, who has been in the spotlight over the last week following a viral video of him being physically assaulted, has attempted to move on from the situation with a new song titled, Sorry.

The Mankind singer took to the recording booth in less than a week to pour his heart into the Ice Queen Records production, along with an accompanying music video, directed by Dark Moon Cinema.

“Loyalty comin like rain enuh only fall fi a period a time den stop know eh dawkness guh,” he says before launching into the track.

“Yeah people nuh genuine none a dem nuh real dem only come round fi di benefit, wen dem nuh get it dem eyes red like seh a red erring

In the viral video which caught the attention of many—including members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force who have asked the entertainer to make contact with them for a formal report— the deejay is seen being slapped across the face by two unidentified men. He doesn’t seek to retort and instead begs for mercy from his attackers.

In a subsequent interview with his ex-manager Terro Don, Silk Boss explained that the culprits were “friends” of his, who grew envious of his rising success.

He further revealed that he was robbed of  J$1.4 million which he intended to use to purchase a car in July.

At the time of the video leak, some people found it amusing, while others expressed how irate they were that someone was being treated that way.

The music video for Sorry—which was shot in mostly low light—reflects the dark and perhaps frustrated mood of the deejay, who reiterates that he doesn’t have any real support around him.

“Suh mi chill inna eh dawknest place weh nuh light nah carry, just mi n miself n nobody, yeah yeah caaz mi affi save miself caaz God cyaa save everybody…” he says.

Fans have been reacting favorably to the track on social media.
