Unruly Boss Popcaan springed on stage to surprise fans at Burna Boy’s Love, Damini Summer Tour at Kultureland in Toronto last night (Saturday 6 August).

The debut edition of the Kultureland 2-day music festival offers a musical melting pot of Afro-fusion, Latin Urbano, Dancehall and R&B music to fans at the Markham Fairgrounds. The African Giant headlined night-1 to kick off the Canadian leg of his Love, Damini Summer 2022 Tour.

Midway through what looked like Burna’s solo performance of T.A.S. (Toni-Ann Singh), Popcaan burst onto the stage to screaming fans, as he deejayed and stealthily whined his waistline to his verses in true Dancehall style.  The song, produced and co-written by Jamaican producers Andrew ‘Anju Blaxx’ Myrie and Amilcar ‘Cobe’ Smith, is a tribute to the Jamaican beauty queen, who is rumored to be dating Popcaan.

“It’s duh hand inna di air and di wine fa me! ❤️❤️#876gad🇯🇲🐐🤘🤘🎶🔥🔥 just neat suh! 👏👏😍😍😍😍,” said one pleased fan who watched the footage online.

Another added, “Popcaan I love you 🤘 for life 🔥🔥🔥 that wine from poppy make my day ❤️.”

Kultureland’s Afro-Caribbean festival, which brings everything from the islands including the music, food, art exhibitions, exclusive merchandise and more, will see R&B princess Jhené Aiko headlining the upcoming Sunday (August 7) stage. Other performances include UK artists B Young, WSTRN, and Ms. Banks, as well as Fireboy DML, Lojay, Kamo Mphela, Prettyboy D-O, StoneBwoy, TomE, Bolu Ajibade, and more.

Canadian music lovers can expect more of the Afro-fusion event according to founder Ferell Ladit, “Starting a festival of this magnitude in Toronto felt like the right thing to do, and I knew the void needed to be filled,” he said.

“My team and I decided to step up to the plate and now we are on the verge of making summer 2022 in Toronto unforgettable after two very tough years for entertainment. I am excited for the way music fans have been embracing Kultureland, it makes it even more special.”

Burna Boy is headed to Finland, and later to The Netherlands, Philadelphia, Sweden, Brooklyn and more for the remainder of his 2022 tour.

Meanwhile, the 876Gad is expected to release his fifth studio album later this year.
