Dancehall superstar Sean Paul added his voice to the Tory Lanez/Megan Thee Stallion fiasco during an interview with Fox on Monday (April 25).  The Temperature singer says he knows Lanez personally, so when news broke that he allegedly shot his friend in the foot, he was quite surprised because he found the rapper to be an amicable person.

“It was a crazy story. I love the both of their music, so it’s kinda hard for me to look into it and be like, “yo, what happened?” I wasn’t there,” he said during the sit-down. “But I do know Tory better; I’ve never met Megan, and he’s a pretty cool dude to me,” Paul added.

“It’s kinda like one of those things where you  don’t understand what you hearing. Like, even with the Will Smith and Chris Rock thing. It was like, what am I seeing? I really respect the two of these guys. And for me, that situation with Tory and Megan was the same thing. It was just a shock. For me, music is supposed to bring people together and they both do music so…,” the Jamaican entertainer said.

On Monday (April 24), the Hot Girl rapper, in her first exclusive TV interview since the July 2020 incident, told CBS host Gayle King that she feared for her life as Lanez shot at her feet after screaming, “Dance, b-tch.”

It was reported that they were traveling with two other people, when Megan emerged from the car during the heated verbal exchange. On October 8 last year, Lanez was charged with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying an unregistered weapon.

Meanwhile, Sean Paul said he has collaborated with Lanez before, which he said gave him more reason to be shocked at the incident.

“We did a song with story called Tek Weh Yuh Heart. I’ve never worked with Megan,” he said, adding that he is open to collaborating with Megan.

In 2016, Paul also jumped on the LUV (remix) with Tory Lanez.
