Spice Hailed For Funny Take On Kardashian Family “Love Triangle”

Queen of Dancehall Spice’s new track dubbed Love Triangle (Pum Pum) which emerged from her 2017 Reggae Sumfest story-telling performance has piqued the interest of Americans, many of whom initially saw the snippet and found her penmanship and delivery not only intriguing but hilarious.

The Grammy-nominated artist, during her short hiatus from social media, broke the internet with her comical take on the Kardashian family ‘mix-up’ which centered on the passing around of romantic partners, after the Reggae Sumfest performance blew up on TikTok.

The original performance featured the entanglement between Tyga, Kylie Jenner and Blac Chyna, with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and their new partners added for the new song, which was released on Friday.

A few days ago, Spice shared a teaser of the now-released song for her 3.9 million Instagram followers and captioned it:  “Y’all forced me to record this one 🤣🤣😂🤣 Love triangle out now on every platform,” Spice p[osted in an Instagram video snipped today.

Yesterday she informed her fans that the song, which is now trending at number 10 on YouTube was making a mark on other charts: “Besties our Pum Pum is trending again 🤣😂🤣 We are #1 on AudioMack  and #6 on the ITunes Reggae chart in 24 hour. We taking over TikTok again Let’s gooooo…”

The lyrics of the track goes:

“Blac Chyna was Tyga pum pum/Kyile Jenner use fi har pum-pum/Tek weh Tyga from Chyna pum-pum / So Chyna just gi Kylie bredda pum pum.”

She then goes on to incorporate Kanye West’s latest shenanigans relating to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

“Kim say she nah gi back Kanye the pum pum/So Kanye move on to Julia pum pum/Den Chaney pum pum/ Pete have Kim pum pum /So Kanye go buy a house beside a Kim pum pum”.

Spice, in an interview shortly before the song’s release told Ebony Magazine that she went to the studio during her hiatus from social media to officially voice the track, which she had initially only written for a one-time performance at Reggae Sumfest where Dancehall icons are expected, traditionally, to come with new social-commentary, storytelling or comical lyrics.

“And let me just elaborate on that – give you a synopsis: I performed that like maybe five years ago.  I think it was at Reggae Sumfest 2017 in Jamaica.  So it was just like a freestyle on stage. I am just singing, doing my Needle Eye and I am starting to talk about people and their relationships and like love triangle and what’s happening in people’s personal life,” she explained.

“So I did that performance and I woke up one day, like two weeks ago and it was just viral.  The performance was just everywhere… so you know what I did?  I recorded it as a song… Because every time I went on my Instagram, it’s the song; it’s the performance.  But there is no song for it, so why not just have a song for it?” she added.

Over on The Shade Room where a snippet of her lyric video for the song was posted, there was high drama, as many expressed amazement that such a situation could actually be made into a song.

“#PressPlay—#TSRTunex: Wayment! #Spice is too funny! She is ready to capitalize off of her popular TikTok sound by making it an actual single! 💃🏾,” The Shade Room caption read.

The comments which followed were just as hilarious as the song.

“I love the way Jamaicans tell a story,” 1forbes1 said, while itsmissmilani added: “Reggae artist say literally anything😂😂😂😂”.

Many Americans, seemingly delighted at her continuous references to “pum-pum” on the track, indulgently lapped up the humour and hailed Spice for her high energy and wit.

“Hahahahahahahah she described that whole mess in a song hahahahahahaha,” a highly amused madisonnmelvin wrote.

“Black chyna is tyga pum pum is too funny”😂😂,” bribri2072 wrote.

“Come get me off the floor pum pum 😂,” jesikajaymes said, while shaquila  added: “This Hilarious and It’s a Banger Lmfaooo.”

Some even called for a remix with Kanye West, while other fans said that the repeated references to “pum-pum” was now etched in their brains.

“This thing has been stuck in my head since i heard it. I LOVE SPICE!!!🤣🤣🤣,” westafrican baby wrote.

“😂😂😂😂 spice I don’t need this sound stuck back in my head,” shaaay.b wrote.

Others said they want to attend Patois classes, while others say they want to attend Spice’s live shows to see the Dancehall Diva in action themselves and immerse themselves in her art.

“I love me some spice!!! I need to see her Live for the full experience 😩🙏🏾,” b_rae_daul said.

Others commented on how Spice had reigned supreme on TikTok.

“Spice had TikTok in a chokehold 😂😂😂😂,” one man said, while nanafofiee added: “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ngl Spice was carrying tiktok on her back w this one”.

“She took a break to come back with violence 😂,” dc.fts declared.

One woman, glendac83 earned the wrath of the Caribbean she declared that Spice’s lyrics would upset the Kardashians, who would put an end to the Jamaican’s career.

“And just like that she ended her own career. She don’t realize how powerful the Kardashian’s are,” she wrote evoking some jeering and dismissive comments.

“@glendac83, Yall regard the Kartrashians a but too highly,” renzy_dee replied, while realestb-tch25 added: “No she will forever have us Caribbean’s especially Jamaicans no American can cancel a Jamaican in Jamaica bc we don’t give a f!?k😂😂😂”.

“Glenda, Jamaicans do not care about no Kardashian,” kbutdidiaskyou declared.

Others said that her point was moot as what Spice sang about was indeed true and was public knowledge.

“Kardashian’s nothing! Sued??? For stating a fact that is PUBLIC? Know ur rights hun,” one fan said.  “U cant sue ppl for speaking facts only for false accusations… she aint tell one lie,” callme_master declared.

“Yall don’t realize she Jamaican.. we nuh care bout nuttin,” another added.

“They don’t have no damn power over Caribbean people also she didn’t lie😂.” Fineymcfarlane jeered.
