Yaksta Experiments With ‘Fete Life’

Dancehall artist Yaksta is getting props for his new release, Fete Life, an authentic dancehall-infused soca track that has helped him to tap into a wider Caribbean fan base.

“The response is really great, and it is generating a lot of attention on YouTube since its release. The song is a fusion of soca and dancehall, a different way to express dancehall, a cleaner version but still hardcore. I made this this song to raise sprits during COVID-19 times, and it’s havng that effect because social media is buzzing. Everyone loves it!” Yaksta said.

The music video is receiving a lot of positive attention on Youtube since its release on January 22, generating over 83,000 views.

Yaksta is currently working on his upcoming EP, Late Bloomer, which is coming in May this year.  He is also set to begin a world tour in May 2022, and he already has confirmed gigs for venues in Europe, UK, Canada, the Caribbean, and the US.

Following his breakout single Ambition, which has racked up 10 million views, Yaksta has emerged as an eclectic artist who is unafraid to experiment with different genres and tackle controversial, hot-button topics.

On Ambition, he posits the idea that the pursuit of materialistic wealth should not be a driving force of one’s existence and that certain posssessions are a liability rather than an asset. He followed up that with his next single Assets (Fowl Coop) where he gives tips on starting small businesses and investments.

With this latest single, he has continued to challenge conventional norms with his music.
