Reggae artist Ginjah is leading out a new riddim project with the new single Nah Work. The project, dubbed the Unity riddim, is produced by boutique label Music House Entertainment.

The Nah Work single is an ardent appeal to the public to democratically oust the present political administration which Ginjah believes is doing nothing to alleviate the suffering of the poor as they wrestle with the twin tigers of unemployment and high food prices.

‘I wrote this song from a sincere place, the current state of humanity across the globe is proof that the traditional management of the people is not working: political corruption, rising food prices, high crime, global genocidal conspiracies, global warming, racism and poverty,” Ginjah said.

The single was released on January 21st, and distributed by Zojak Worldwide. The entire project was mixed and mastered by Redboom.

Now based in California, USA, Ginjah believes that the world is uniquely poised to hear this message.

“The entire situation with the pandemic has forced people to speak out about things, and I am leading the charge because I sing with soul and truth,” he said.

The project will be featured on iTunes on February 11th.

Producer Markland Raymond has high hopes for the entire project, especially Ginjah’s song.

“I expect the song to do well, Ginjah the Reggae soul man is a good artiste and it’s a honour to work with him. I have recorded Gibraltar a new artiste from St Ann and IKatik, both of whom Musichouse Ent are currently producing a body of work with,” Raymond said.

A protege of Beres Hammond, Ginjah (real name Valentine Nakrumah Fraser) was raised in Central Village, Spanish Town. His recording career launched seriously when he joined Hammond’s Harmony House label 20 years ago.

Ginjah is known for the hit songs Never Lost my Way, Guilty Conscience, Prayer, Sweet Killer, and Music Alone.

Last year, the Hanover-born artiste released ‘Reggae Soul Man’ , his seventh studio album.
