Shenseea Bares Soul On New Yo Gotti Collab “Forever Ballin'”

Dancehall star Shenseea opened up about pouring her soul into Forever Ballin’, a song which she’s featured on with American rapper Yo Gotti, off his newest album, CM10.

The ShenYeng princess took to Instagram just past midnight on Friday, to reveal that her lines were written on her late mother’s Memorial Day.

“This song is so special to me because it was done on my Mom’s Memorial Day, I wrote it with my heart, reassuring and motivating myself to keep going. I hope it does the same for y’all! #ForeverBallin…” she wrote.

Her mother, Castilyn Eleanor Williams passed away unexpectedly in June 2020.

Yo Gotti, best known for Rake It Up with Nicki Minaj and Put A Date On It with Lil Baby, quickly endorsed the young Jamaican star’s talent by reposting her clip to his IG story, and writing, “You hard 🔥💛

The Blessed singer’s opening vocals coincided with her statement about paying homage to her mother, as she begins, “No matter/the sh-t that I’m going through ammo be alright/ I tell myself I ain’t giving up till the day I die/ Life hard but me nuh want it easy on me/ F**k all who nuh believe inna me/ Ammo keep giving my all, yeah/ Ammo be forever ballin’ Yo…”

Yo Gotti also trusted the 25-year-old, whose given name is Chinsea Lee, with the outro of his song. She seizes the opportunity to provide encouragement to fans, based on her own personal hardships before stardom.

“For the people in the ghetto/ this a sign to keep your head up/ feeling down but we not falling/ We gon’ be forever ballin’/ More while me fed up/ but me aguh keep mi head up/ they wanna see me fallin’/ but me aguh stay ballin’”

“No matta weh yuh go through, nuh matta weh yah face, once you have life, there’s still a chance fi mek it right.”

Forever Ballin’ is another international collab that the fast-rising singjay has stashed in her catalog, as she makes moves from regional sensation to international star.

She first made waves in 2016, with the release of her debut single, Jiggle Jiggle. Then came the red-hot Loodi, her 2017 collaboration with Dancehall star Vybz Kartel.

She has also recorded with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Shaggy, Young Thug, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, and most recently Kanye West, which earned her a Grammy nomination.

Shenseea’s debut studio album, ALPHA, is slated for release on March 11. Her highly controversial track, Lick, featuring Megan Thee Stallion forms part of the project and has already gotten fans antsy on what to expect for the remainder.

The song debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, while the music video has received over 6.1 million YouTube views.
