I Waata, Prettii Prettii

It’s been over a year since I Waata and dancer-turned-artist Prettii Prettii broke up, but the Dancehall deejay seems to still be reeling from his lost love.

In an unexpected twist of events, the Clip Tall artist took to his official Instagram this afternoon to extend an olive branch to his former lover, affectionately known as ‘Mimi’.

“Things do happen in life but that’s no excuse for me as a man. I’m sorry Mimi 😞😞. #mywholeheart ❤️” he wrote, under a video of his ex-beau with MAJOR.’s This Is Why I Love You playing in the background.

Prettii Prettii, whose real name is Tashlicka Laird, is seen donning a revealing, bronze two-piece dress, paired with a blonde wig, while striking numerous sexy poses.

The two have had a turbulent dating history, which came to a halt in December 2020, when I Waata confirmed that the former Team Spice dancer had left him after finding out he had fathered another woman’s baby.

“Mi love mi son and the world know mi love Mimi don’t? A fi mi Mimi enuh, all if Mimi feel like seh she a nuh fi mi Mimi, a fi mi Mimi and unno know that,” I Waata said in a Live video at the time.

The deejay had also pleaded with fans to leave ‘Mimi’ alone.

“Lowe Mimi alone, weh unno a try bring dung di girl fah?” I Waata asked.  “A whole a unno inna dem seh situation deh. A just true me a artiste unno waan fling it and Mimi a artiste and dancer unno waan fling it everywhere.”

After the revelation, Prettii Prettii ghosted Instagram for several weeks until she resurfaced in January with a new song dubbed Social Media.

She told the STAR that she is usually one to lash out quickly when anyone seeks to drag her down on social media, but had turned a new leaf and wanted to put her emotions into song.  “I was fed up with all the things people were saying but I decided to answer this way because of how bad I felt within myself,” she said. “I knew that if I had retaliated instantly, I would have regretted a lot of things so my first choice was to stay calm,” she said during an interview at the time.

Seemingly on the path of career and self-improvement, Prettii followed up with Sad Eeh—a stinging diss track aimed at an unnamed female and her biggest hit of 2021.

She also became one of the main cast members of YouTube series Dancehall Life, produced by Downsound Entertainment CEO Josef Bogdanovich. The entertainer, and her counterparts Dancing Rebel and TC, have even adopted the term ‘Dolly’ to describe the trio and were recently featured in Shenseea’s music video of the same name.

Meanwhile, fans were torn over I Waata’s bold post. Some thought he deserved to lie in the bed he made, while others lauded him for his ‘mature’ move.

“Yute yuh aguh show up di wolla wi wid dah post yah enuh. Yu juss raise e bar…Why yu dweet?” quizzed Skatta Burrell, who is also part of the Downsound Entertainment team.

🤣🤣🤣 one more chance my ass that’s why man nuh stop do we so them do foolishness then come back with sad face,” another follower said.

“Angle angle triangle 😩,” another teased, hinting at the ‘third party’ that was in their relationship.
