The rift between Foota Hype and Spice deepened throughout Sunday, in a tit-for-tat which eventually saw the Dancehall selector calling for a truce, claiming he did not want to reveal things that could be detrimental to her children’s psyche.
After being unfavorably mentioned in the new single Sponsor by social media personality-turned-recording artist Starr Dawkins, Dancehall singer Jada Kingdom has fired back by serving shade and some to-die-for looks on the ‘gram.
New York-based Dancehall artist Kranium continues to bag more accolades in Canada. We Can, his 2017 collab with rapper Tory Lanez, is now certified Gold, while Nobody Has To Know, first released in 2013, was certified Platinum in the country in August.
Undeniably, while Dancehall has done well for itself by primarily ignoring its limits, there are a few times the genre’s lack of clearly defined boundaries made it hard to differentiate which songs were lyrical art, and which songs could double as violence-inciters and studio-recorded confessions.
