While Lila Iké and Naomi Cowan brought refreshing, sultry sounding tunes, Masicka surprises in a touching rude boy special delivery. There’s lots more to enjoy, check them out below or stream your favorites from our Spotify playlist below.

Koffee – The Harder They Fall

Up first is Koffee with the title track on the soundtrack for Netflix’s The Harder They Fall movie.  The song was produced by the film’s director Jeymes Samuel.  The soundtrack, released in partnership with Roc Nation today, also features Jay-Z, Barrington Levy, Kid Cudi, Lauryn Hill, Jadakiss, Conway The Machine, Seal and CeeLo Green.

Jahshii – Life Lessons

Dancehall singer Jashii has kept the momentum going, releasing his 4th single, Life Lessons this week. In visuals directed by Manie of Klik Entertainment, viewers are led into the lush woodlands with picturesque views of cascading waterfalls gushing against a roaring river. The track, which was produced by Derron HMP Herah, Jashii says, “Life lesson teach mi fi live, mi mind settle and a reach fi the dream. Stay focus and real to the team.” After seeing his dreams realized, the young talent says “Can’t f-ck up my blessing dem,” while telling his naysayers to stand down.

Rhumba – Obstacles

This is another uplifting release from Dancehall newcomer Rhumba. The track Obstacles positions fake people as hindrances in life but with holding the faith and maintaining ones determination, the way Rhumba has done, it gives him the right to talk. So he encourages listeners to rise above, “One voice in a mi ears say don’t stop, obstacle in a way, tire puncture, ah lucky ting mi know Jah.” The track, which arrives on the Bleed Riddim was produced by Dynasty Entertainment Group, Attomatic Records and Dj Mac, while the visuals were a creation courtesy of M Studio.

Vybz Kartel – Do It If Yuh Bad

Vybz Kartel’s extended GAZA crew came through to put on a kaleidoscopic display in the latest music video for his new single Do It If Yuh Bad. In visuals reminiscent of scenes from the Fast and Furious movie, an overweening entourage donning ‘GAZA’ merch, flaunt their exotic whips and riding skills in a street setting while some bendy video vixens set the mood. “Nobody scare we, we yuh feel. Step in a di street, yeah we mad, yeah we mean. Choices, Beretta or Glock 17, who want test? Nigga do yuh CXC…” Kartel tunes to prove his badness in the Droptop Records and Romillion Entertainment produced track.

Alkaline – System

Top Prize deejay Alkaline dropped off a new social commentary today, rapping on everything that ‘spells no sense’ under the System.  Produced by Autobamb Records and BlackSpyda Records, System features a similar vocal style to his last release Sell Off.

Konshens – Take A Shot

Off his upcoming album Red Reign (which debuts November 12), Konshens released Take A Shot to celebrate a return to nightlife.  The corresponding visual for this “bad girl banger” is a peek inside the wilder side of women. Scenes of racing ATVs on the beach and tantalizing Tik Tok videos are a taste of the bad behavior portrayed in the Take A Shot video.

Konshens explains, “Since Covid restrictions have been lifted in Florida, the club scene in Miami has had a revival. I wanted to make an anthem for women to go out with their friends and behave a little badly. It is the type of video that shows how some women behave when they think nobody is watching.”

WSTRN Featuring Lila Iké – Never Leave

Together with British afro-swing collective WSTRN, Reggae singer Lila Iké delivers this feel-good ballad Never Leave that should definitely secure a spot on your playlist. This one is dedicated to those ‘real girls’ out there; the trio, WSTRN, take turns to profess their loyalty to that special someone they say is a “keeper”. They croon the hook, “I will never leave you girl … I just wanna please you girl,” while Lila adds her caressing tones to support their sincerity.

Masicka – Love Story

Dancehall rude boy Masicka is in love in his new single Love Story but this tale is as complicated as they come. For reasons he can’t take back, Masicka and his true love are apart, so putting his eloquent lyrical skills to use, the deejay decides to send her a note. While emotions flare between the two, in the end there is nothing they can do. This all plays out in the RD Studios-directed visuals.

According to the deejay, Love Story is the first official release from his upcoming 15-track album 438, which is expected on December 3 2021.

Naomi Cowan – Jaded

Singer, songwriter Naomi Cowan has arrived on the scene this week with her new single Jaded bringing Reggae-jazzy feels while she shelves a time-wasting lover. In the visuals, which were directed by Skinny, Naomi switches between two scenes to dish her parting verses: “Been through so much heartache, hope you overstand me, don’t wanna choose you fighting what’s inside me/ This time I’m jaded my world inundated, I’m so tainted, looks like your seat is taken. Now you disobeyed the promise and you’ve lost it all,” Cowan confidently issues on the Sean Alaric-produced single.

Jahvillani – Gun Man Party

If you’ve never been to a ‘gun man party’ before, Dancehall deejay Jahvillani takes you there in his new single and KD Visuals-directed music video. While admission might be free, attendees better be strapped before entry. “Thugs and Barbies, guns and cartridge, rum, campari, skunk and molly” are just a few perks to expect as Jahvi says in the track. Produced by YGF Records, HowWow and 1Govament along with Sha-Tess Records and Passa-Don Music, the new single is a hit with the fans, locking in more than 127k views since its release yesterday.

Indie Allen – Wanted

Spurring sweet Reggae-roots vibes in his new love song, Indie Allen’s Wanted, which was produced by Dretegs expresses the need to be desired by the one you love, and the importance of communicating that need. He might be missing from the new visuals but video model, Catherine Harris makes for a rather cool viewing as she simply rocks out to Indie’s new beat with her earpods in place.

Gold Gad – Squid Game

Leave it to Gold Gad to bring you what’s trending in the world in his music releases. In an association with Simple Boss Records, the deejay dropped Squid Game this week to assert that his badness should be likened to the South Korean survival drama television series. “We have the game lock eh, cant follow me dem haffi play dat seet, mi make eh K clap sweet. 1, 2, 3, red light mi buss yuh head a suh you know me…” he deejays in this creative ‘gun chune.’ The fans are for it; Squid Game now has over 113k views and counting.

Reggae singer Nesbeth has set out to remind everyone just how precious life truly is with his new single Life Over Everything. Produced by Crawba Production and Ivey League Production, Nesbeth sings in verses, “You still deh yah simply mean yuh special. No diamond without pressure. Hear mi now mi bredda, live on, sister live on, cause tomorrow nuh promise that’s why the present is a gift. So everyday mi events haffi live. Tommy Lee Sparta – Short List

Tommy Lee Sparta continues the rollout of his new album Transition with the release of a second single, Short List. The Sparta Boss has already shared a collaboration with his son, Skirdle Sparta titled “Dior Kicks”.

Produced by Cyzmik Music, Tommy Lee Sparta shows his dark side on the track. With a sizable catalogue, Tommy Lee Sparta’s “badness” music has always drawn a big following, and stirred up a few controversies. This time around he paints the picture where he’s scheming on his opponents, ensuring that “Mi enemy name write inna blood pan a shortlist“. He declares that he is ready for them, and will take them down, no matter how lucky or “guard up” they may be as he will bring the “darkness“.

Transition, a 26 track double album is executive produced by Boss Lady Muzik, will be released on November 5.

TeeJay – Rental

If you listened on the playlist, you’d assume Tommy Lee Sparta had two releases this week.  Alas, it’s just TeeJay trying out the Spartan Solider‘s style and flow.  TeeJay’s grimey new track appears on the Hot Tar iddim by Bass Lion Art Production.
