Dancehall singer Shenseea has teased fans with a new song Deserve It from her upcoming debut album during an Instagram video clip.

On October 1, the Blessed singer took to her Instagram in a two-piece Fendi print swimsuit to celebrate her 25th birthday, while twerking to what she confirmed was a snippet of her next track from the still-untitled album.

“I’m 25! Decided to release a lil snippet of this new music I got…for all my #LIBRAS,” she wrote in the caption.

From the teaser, it appears the song will be an R&B and Pop-infused track that is reminiscent of the early 2010s.  This contrasts with the album’s first two singles, Run Run and Be Good, which were released earlier this year, and confirms speculation that Shenseea will be more experimental with her sound.

Along with receiving well wishes from fellow acts like Taraji P. Henson, Winnie Harlow, and Rvssian the overall response to the teaser was positive. Grammy award-winning artist Kali Uchis, who is best known for her hit latin single Telepatia, wrote under the post, “Ohhhh all of a sudden I have a new favorite song.”

The release of Deserve It will follow Shenseea’s two features on Kanye West’s Donda album. Ok Ok Pt. 2 and Pure Souls with Roddy Rich earned her placements on the coveted Billboard Hot 100 after they peaked at No. 12 and No. 52 respectively, in September.

The feat made Shenseea the first female Dancehall artist on the chart in 17 years—following Miss Thing’s entry with Beenie Man on Dude in 2004—as well as placed her in the company of Sean Paul and Shaggy as being the only Jamaican artists to have more than one song on the Hot 100 at the same time.

However, while the Trending Gyal singer is “happy” to make the Billboard chart, she continues to make it a point that she isn’t too keen on being “first”.

“Fxck the first this and first that! I’m just happy I did something great! 17 years!” she wrote in an Instagram post today.
