Watch: Shenseea ‘Pats It Up’ With Visuals For ‘Be Good’

Dancehall star Shenseea has unveiled a new single Be Good from her still-untitled album on Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records.

Be Good (pronounced in Jamaican lingua as “Big Hood”), takes Shenseea back to her melodious and sexually explicit roots.  With a groovy Dancehall tempo from Rvssian, M.R.I and Tano, Shenseea finds comfort in drawing attention to the needs of her private parts with some not-so-subtle euphemisms and wordplay.  As the Blessed singer steadily searches for a hit, this one is being hailed by some of her fans as the “bedroom anthem” of the summer.

The Spotify Dancehall Queen playlist curator sings, “Me wah big good yes a dat me wah hackle up me body slap up me p-ssy jaw…me waaant it me want be good (Big Hood)“.

In the video directed by Darren Craig and shot on location in Stony Hill, St Andrew Jamaica, Shenseea along with several women can be seen twerking in a rural riverbed, a visual difference from her album’s first single Run Run, where she was lowered into a pit and styled to embody Medusa.

In the single’s promotional artwork, Shenseea’s controversial penis-shaped hairstyle is by @fitchlunar and Opus Beauty (Beyoncé, Lizzo, Cardi B).

The 1980’s inspired Run Run went to the top ten on the reggae iTunes chart and was the most streamed music video in Jamaica for one week. The song did not climb any of the main Billboard airplay or Reggae charts.

However, Shenseea’s second single is evidence of her and her record label’s commitment to dancehall.

Her highest streaming song is Lighter with Tarrus Riley on YouTube and she has 25 million Pandora plays. There is no release date yet for her debut album.

Be Good is out now on Youtube and all streaming platforms.  Press play above.
