British Bombshell Miss Lafamilia Recruits Popcaan For New Party Banger ‘Monsta’: Watch

Dancehall’s ‘Unruly Boss’ Popcaan appears to have made the most of his time in the UK, after the releasing of a new collaboration and music video with British female rapper Miss LaFamilia. The Silence deejay made big moves non-stop since he touched down, launching his new clothing line, the Daily Paper x Unruly last week, as well as performing alongside Beenie Man at Wray and Nephew’s London concert, and with the Gorillaz at the O2 at a special concert for health workers. He’s back to dropping music ahead of his new album and Monsta’s pre-pandemic party vibes are sure to please his fans.

Miss Lafamilia has emerged as one of the biggest acts in Birmingham in just under two years. The rapper, singer and single mother is one of the UK’s most promising stars and she spoke highly of the Unruly Boss adding his signature flow to the banger.

“The jumpy beat inspired me to write Monsta alongside wanting to create a big energy record!” Miss LaFamilia said. “Popcaan’s verse was the icing on the cake, his verse just complimented the song naturally and gave that big party energy.”

The genre-blending cut clocks in at just under 3 minutes and trailblazing director Teeeezy C pulls out all the stops for a genuine party aesthetic. From dance floor antics to jerk chicken, the GRM Daily exclusive video delivers on its dancehall vibe, racking up 50K views in its first day.

Popcaan adds some international flair to his usual braggadocious bars. “Dane Ray 50K pon wrist/ Call up di thugs and go tour Paris/ And mi killy dem ah London nuh shoot an miss/ Yeah, let me hear you say woah/ Cock it up mi baby mi love how your skin glow,” he spits on the track.

In another highlight from his London trip, Popcaan leaked a few details on his upcoming album. Speaking with UK-based GRM Daily, Popcaan hyped up his Unruly fans for the project he’s sure will surpass 2020’s FIXTAPE.

“It is going to be an amazing album. The FIXTAPE was like a warm-up for this album,” Popcaan teased. “It’s a different energy and it’s more inspiration. The more I travel, the more inspiration I get. I had some good times whilst I was here, so that will definitely roll out in the music as well.”
