Minister Marion Hall Announces Death Of Her Father
Minister Marion Hall, formerly known as the Queen of Dancehall Lady Saw, has announced that her father has passed away.
In a post on Instagram yesterday, Hall, who resides in the United States, shared the news with her followers and revealed that her father had died just after he spoke with him on FaceTime.
“His nurse said he smiles at the end of our conversation,” she wrote.
Minister Hall did not disclose his cause of death.
The gospel artist said she helped close family members to visit him during his final days. “Just two days ago, I arranged with my driver in Jamaica to take my sister and his grandchildren and great grandchildren to go visit him for a few days, since three of them will be migrating to America in a few days.”
“We all prayed, while My sister Precious read the Bible to him. My soul is at peace knowing that I was obedient to the Holy Spirit, when he instructed me on what needed to be done days ago,” she continued.
Hall also revealed she had gotten her father baptised before she left for the United States. “Before I came up to America, I had gotten him baptized in the name of Jesus for the cleansing of his sins, and prayed that God now received his spirit until we meet again,” she closed the statement.
Among those offering their condolences were singer Alaine, Dancehall selector Foota Hype, Gramps Morgan, and over 1600 fans of the singer.
In 2015, Minister Hall converted to Christianity and dropped the moniker Lady Saw.
With a career that spanned more than 25 years, Lady Saw is best known for her contribution to No Doubt’s Underneath It All, for which she won a Grammy Award, becoming the first female dancehall deejay to get the honor. Saw is also known for her songs If Him Lef, Good Man, I’ve Got Your Man, Man Is The Least, Sycamore Tree and several others.
