Jamaica’s Queen of Dancehall Spice showed off her newly acquired Billboard plaque for her 2018-released, Captured mixtape, which peaked at No. 1 on the Reggae Albums chart.

The award arrived earlier this month on her birthday (August 6) courtesy of Billboard and Hapilos Digital, who she partnered with to release the album alongside her own record label Spice Official Entertainment.

Hapilos congratulated the Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta star on Instagram and wrote, “Congratulations Queen of Dancehall @spiceofficial ❗️ You deserved it, We are pleased that you enjoy this birthday gift from us and @billboard for all the work that you have put in this album 🙌🏾.”

The QOD also shared the accolade with her 3.7 million IG followers today, posting a clip of herself unwrapping the birthday gift.  There, she also reminded everyone that her first single Black Hypocrisy off the Captured mixtape also went to No. 1 and she will need a plaque for that too.

She wrote in the caption, “Thanks @billboard and @hapilos for finally sending my #1 Billboard plaque to me on my birthday #CapturedMixtape. My Mixtape went #1 on Billboard but my single #Blackhypocrisy also went #1 so can I get a plaque for the single too 🥴😂😂 @hapilos mi need it. THANK YOU 💙💙💙💙💙 Besties this is a gift from you so THANK YOU 🙏🏾 Let’s send 10 all the way up‼️”

Hapilos’s congratulatory post also confirmed to the Dancehall superstar that her Black Hypocrisy Billboard plaque is on the way. “Black Hypocrisy Plaque, don’t worry we got you 😊 💽 💙💙💙💙💙💙,” they wrote.

Popcaan, who recently received Billboard plagues for his albums Vanquish and Fixtape in March, was one of the first to applaud Queen Spice in the comments of the post. Other industry colleagues like Busta Rhymes, Jada Kingdom, I-Octane, Dexta Daps, Ding Dong, Dj Lava Sound, Charly Black and more, also showed love on her page.

Spice made her way in the top 10 of the Billboard charts again a week after the release of her debut studio album 10 this month, securing the No. 6 spot. It was her third entry onto the Billboard Reggae Albums chart following her 2014, EP So Mi Like that debuted at No.14.

Spice’s Captured Mixtape also entered at No. 9 on the US Top Heatseekers charts, which is the ‘Breaking and Entering’ music charts issued weekly by Billboard magazine.

Queen Spice was the only female Jamaican artist to top the Billboard Reggae Album charts that year, however in 2019 a number of other female Reggae acts managed to rise to the occasion, these were Koffee with her Grammy-winning Rapture EP that hit No. 1, also Marcia Griffiths at No. 2 with Timeless, Rita Marley took No. 3 with Lioness of Reggae, Analea Brown’s Queendom hit No. 2 and Estelle’s Lovers Rock at No. 2, and Vanessa Bling’s Still Standing EP came in at No. 3.
