Renowned Olympian Usain Bolt revealed that he has every intention of marrying his partner of six years, Kasi Bennett, the mother of his three kids.  The retired sprint legend’s focus has now switched from running down the track to looking after three babies under two.

Since announcing the birth of his twin sons, Thunder and Saint Leo on Father’s Day last month, the fastest man in history recently opened up about what family life was like these days and the future with Kasi as his wife.

“I’m definitely going to get married in the future, for sure,” he said when he interviewed with The Mirror today.

The proud dad of twin boys and, Olympia Lightning, 14 months, says he is getting used to being a father of three young children. He’s getting enough sleep only “sometimes but not all the times,” and with all three it feels like “pandemonium.”

When asked, what takes more effort, looking after three kids under two or running 100 meters in under 9.6 seconds, Usain said, “Listen, three babies for sure. When they start crying altogether, it’s like pandemonium. You don’t know what to do. So it’s difficult but it’s so worth it.”

Usain, 34, also spoke about his children’s interesting choice of names. “The rule was when we were expecting Olympia, that if we had a girl Kasi got to name her.”

“And if a boy, I got to name them. So that’s how it worked out. She wasn’t too hot on Thunder Bolt. But then she was like, ‘All right, let’s do it’,” he said.

They decided to keep the twins’ arrival private this time around, especially from Usain’s 10 million Instagram followers, to make it easier on Kasi, so she could relax and there wasn’t too much attention or stress on her.

“People always want to ask questions or want to come over and hang out. The last time, people were like, ‘Oh my God’ and all over her on social media. And she just wanted to have a quiet pregnancy,” he said.

Now as he embarks on this new chapter in his life, being a dad of three kids, the athlete says he can’t wait to watch them grow up and see if they will follow in his footsteps on the track.

“I’m just really looking forward to seeing how they’re going to grow, or if they want to do track and field – or not do any sports.”

Speaking before Olympia’s arrival in 2020, Usain said he would not encourage his children to follow in his footsteps. At the time, the retired sportsman said, “That’s going to be hard for my kid. If they want to do it, I’m fine with it. But, initially, I’m going to say don’t do it, because I know the pressure that will come along with it.”

Usain said he feels more pride for his children than his record-breaking title and glitzy awards. “People always tell you, the moment you get your first child it’s going to change your life. And it does. It’s something that I really appreciate and love,” … “Every day there’s something new. It makes you smile, makes you happy,” he continued.

The Jamaican-born athlete is widely considered the greatest sprinter of all time. He is the only sprinter to win the 100m and 200m at three consecutive Olympics, in 2008, 2012, and 2016. Among all his medals are eight Olympic Golds. He retired after the London 2017 World Championships where he endured a hamstring injury in the final race of his career.

In retirement, Usain indulges in more of what he loves, including making music and kicking back with some beers — reduced-calorie ones as he’s an ambassador for Michelob Ultra.

In July 2019, Bolt made his debut as a Dancehall music producer with the release of the Olympe Rosé riddim that featured 5 tracks from Jamaican Dancehall artists, Dexta Daps (Big Moves), Munga Honorable (Weekend), Christopher Martin (Dweet), Ding Dong (Top A Di Top), and football player turned artist Ricardo “Bibi” Gardner (Mount A Gyal).

He followed up with another compilation called the Immortal Riddim later that same year that included tracks from Vybz Kartel, Masicka, Munga Honorable, and Christopher Martin.

Last year, Bolt released a single titled Living The Dream with his childhood friend and manager Nugent ‘NJ’ Walker. Then, earlier in April, Bolt again recruited Vybz Kartel, along TeeJay, Charly Black, and few others for another of his productions, the Clockwork Riddim.

As for his latest project, Usain says, “I’ve just dropped a new single, It’s a Party, so check it out. And if you work as hard as me, a few beers won’t trouble you.”

“After all this work, if you don’t enjoy yourself, what’s the point?”
