Dancehall superstar Sean Paul has achieved another career milestone, joining the ‘Pandora Billionaires Club’ after he surpassed a billion streams on the platform.   The distinction places Paul in the company of other Pandora Billionaires like John Legend, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash, Kirk Franklin, Keith Urban, and more.

A surprise presentation was held in Sean Paul’s hometown of Kingston, Jamaica to commemorate 1.7 billion streams to date on the streaming platform. In addition, Sean Paul will now be added to Pandora’s Pop Billionaires and R&B Billionaires stations.

Paul currently has 1.9 million monthly listeners on Pandora.  I’m Still In Love With You is ranked as his top song on the platform, while his 2003 chart-topping suite Dutty Rock is ranked as his top album.

“We are thrilled to formally welcome Sean Paul into the elite group of billion spinning artists on Pandora,” Diego Herrera, Senior Curator for Pandora, said in a release.

“Sean is the quintessential artist-endlessly creative, bound by no genres but also constantly striving to represent dancehall reggae music and his home of Jamaica. His dedication to his fans is mirrored by their love of his music, which in turn is reflected in his soaring numbers on our platform. We look forward to seeing more milestones achieved by this incredible artist and congratulate him on this recognition.”

Sean Paul thanked Pandora for the recognition and praised his fans for helping him to reach the milestone.

“Thank You Pandora for recognizing me on this great achievement and taking the time out to come to my hometown and present me with this great plaque,” he said. “To my fans, thank you we did it together and let’s continue to Scorch dem.”

The Pandora plaque comes on the heels of Sean Paul’s recently released album Live N Livin, which is his first full-length album released on his own label Dutty Rock Productions.

His next album, Scorcher, is now expected to be released around mid-August 2021.  According to the Temperature artist the project has been delayed because of the “red tape” surrounding some of the high-profile collaborations on the project.

“The album is still coming out but it’s just that the album was held back until about August 13, which is when the track with Ty Dollar $ign titled Only Fans comes out,” Paul told the Jamaica Star recently.  “It is about women who are independent and make money seamlessly. In the meantime, I am working on another list of fresh songs, even though I have had them for a while, for another album I am working on but haven’t decided on a name as yet.”

The Scorcher album will also feature Stylo G, Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo, American rapper Nicky Jam and Jamaican hitmakers Jada Kingdom and Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley.

Sean Paul has also previously teased Scorcher collaborations titled Light My Fire with Shenseea and American singer Gwen Stefani, and Dynamite with Australian pop star Sia.
