Dancehall recording artist Jahvillani, the ‘Wile Side Government’ creator released his 13-track debut album Dirt to Bentley today, July 9. Dubbed a “triumphant expression of Jamaica’s youth-driven Dancehall” by VP Records label, the collection features collaborations with the smooth vocals of New York-based Dancehall star Kranium, the swaggerific flows of Dancehall’s Fresh Prince, Skillibeng, and Trinibad star boy Prince Swanny.

Rytikal – We Okay

Trending for music at No. 8 on YouTubeJM is Rytikal’s latest single We Okay, a follow-up to his impressive hit song Chosen. Rising above the hate in “a route filled with ‘crab in a barrel’, the Dancehall deejay says he’ll never give up because “belief in yourself is the only way we will survive this.” In the new visuals courtesy of Noel at OneTime Music Films, Sean Image and Taqueth, Rytikal is seen among his colleagues in what appears to be his hometown of Jamaica as he ironically dishes about how untrusting he is of ‘purchased friendships’.

 Protoje – Self Defense

Reggae singer Protoje arrives on the music scene this week with a video for his In Search Of Lost Time track Self Defense to stand with women in a reprisal for domestic violence. In a time when the “place a move strange” he’s not taking any chances – “Watch how you walk to me. Look in a mi face when you a talk to me. Hands pon mi waist might haffi draw fi me … because mi na sit and wait pon di law,” he lyrics. The Rebecca Williams-directed music video captures a chilling mission of citizens arrest carried out by a crew of fierce-looking females on a wanted perpetrator.

IWaata – Play It

The lyrically potent IWaata bring this infectious new release Play It to proudly flaunt his many chattels; the big Benz with the double exhaust, his millions, and umpteen pretty girls that come with the baby momma drama and many mateys. The KhingCam Visuals lay down the scenes to show viewers exactly what he’s talking about and the fans are simply loving it, Play It is currently trending for music at No. 10 on YouTubeJM.

Queen Nikki – Twinkle Star

Dancer-turn-deejay, Queen Nikki steps out with a bang this week dropping a new music video Twinkle Star to explain her very public shoplifting scandal the days prior. It was all a publicity stunt to promote the Lagikz Supreme visuals of the new song. Then in an unrelated plot, Queen Nikki takes viewers to outer space among ‘twinkling stars’ and unbridles the risqué details of seductive situationship with a lover.

HoodCelebrityy – Champion

Brooklyn-based Dancehall singer HoodCelebrityy exemplifies a Champion in this new release. “They know I’m a champion, simply because I’m wining, simply because I’m different,” she echoes on the hook as images of everyday champions flicker on the screen. As the singer pars with a champion boxer others like a Paralympian, ballerina, firefighter, pole dancer, synchronize swimmers, hospital workers demonstrate what they do best in the Boy Vano-directed music video.

Jahmiel – Jah Never Leave

As Patriotz boss, Jahmeil embarks on a renewed spiritual path, he takes listeners to church in a fresh new single Jah Never Leave. Praising the Almighty, Jahmiel shares his testimony of a faith so strong, “The Lord is my light and salvation so whom shall I fear, no one,” he sings while chorusing his thanks for the many blessings he has received. The visuals courtesy of Tinman at SwagTvFilms and creative director Nickii Kane, which is trending for music at No. 17, shows the Dancehall crooner laying down his poignant bars inside the house of the Lord.

Kash Promise Move – Left The Earth

Kash Promise Move delivers this soulful sounding ballad to question, “how dem stay suh?” If he had his way he would buy a rocket and “left the earth,” but the furthest he has made it is to the cloud-covered mountaintops. Trending at No. 6, the Chadd Kreative music video shows the Dancehall singer playing out a skit of ungratefulness and hatred while singing how tired he is of doing good for people and not being appreciated.

Intence – Yahoo Boyz

Dancehall artist Intence says he will never go broke again and reveals one of the reasons why in his new single Yahoo Boyz. With a dose of fresh chicken blood, a couple of dozen tea-light candles, a laptop, a few phones, and ofcourse some Hennessey and a spliff in hand, the KD Visuals-directed music video shows viewers that Intence is quite adept in the art of voodoo. “Money nuh have estimate, guard up with oil. Ring load up with nuff duppy [ghost/spirit],” he brags while relating how he ‘chaps’ it in his Mark X, with the ‘big food’, and surrounded by many girls. Yahoo Boyz has already amassed over 600k views since its release 4 days ago and is currently trending for music at No. 1 on YouTubeJM.
