Mexican singer-actress Christi Lux has teamed up with producers Jungle Jesus and Manager Davila for a Spanish dancehall song dubbed Pegaa.

“The song is dancehall and the lyrics are what they call Spanglish, but I feel that it is a phenomenal song with crossover potential,” the artiste whose real name is Christian Lux, said.

Christi Lux came to Jamaica recently to shoot a music video and got plugged into the local music scene. She loves the feel and sound of dancehall.

“I met Jungle Jesus when I came to Jamaica to shoot a video, and it was an amazing experience. The people are so warm and loving, the weather is great as well, the music is incredible. I visited the Bob Marley museum, and I got a chance to eat Rastafarian food, and jerk chicken. Jamaica is an amazing country, wonderful, warm people,” Christi Lux said.

Born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Christi grew up in Texas. Lux infuses reggaeton into American pop to cultivate a modern exciting spine-tingling sound. She was a special guest at Sak Fifth Ave Fashion week 2020 hosted by Mary J Blige. She is also embarking on her other passions. She is also an actress and she is currently shooting scenes for a Netflix movie called Texas Kill City where she plays Percilla, the head of a Mexican cartel.

She has released songs such as Bebe, Todo X Ti and Llevame Contigo featuring jAH Fabio in recent months.

“It’s a real pleasure working with Christi, she is very professional and I am getting a lot of positive feedback from music insiders on her tracks,” said Manager Davila who has played a key role in the careers of producers Not Nice and dancehall artiste Jahmeil.

Manager Davila discovered Christi Lux and inked her to a recording and production deal over a year ago. Manager Davila has played an instrumental role in promoting Christi’s pop-infused Latin music on the club music scene in Houston and Dallas. Now, Christi Lux will be experimenting with dancehall.

“Jungle Jesus sent her a couple of riddims some beats, and she liked that beat cause it has a nice mix of Afro Beats, Reggaeton and dancehall in it. Zamar Yauw from Bermuda will also be on the beat and the project will also be co-produced by me,” she said.

The single, Pegaa, will be released on Jungle Jesus Entertainment in August 2021. Jungle Jesus is also excited about the project.

“The uptempo vibe from the riddim is what inspired me to dabble into the Latino market. I admired Christi lux work ethics and her love for the Latino genre, so that motivated me to reach out to her and work on this project,” Jungle Jesus said.

Born Akeem Grant, Jungle Jesus is a marketing student at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC). He is originally from Arnett Gardens in Kingston.Jungle Jesus made his name promoting songs and mixtapes featuring top artistes like Beenie Man and Ding Dong.

He has also worked with another Latino artiste called Jah Fabio.

“I have grown to love Latino genre irrespective of the fact that I am not fluent with the Spanish dialect, but fortunately I got the basics in university and incorporated what I learned into my music career,” he said.

There are plans to shoot a video for Pegaa this Summer.
