TeeJay Shares Details On New Album ‘Rags To Riches’

Dancehall artist TeeJay has confirmed that his debut album, dubbed Rags To Riches, will finally arrive in August.

While on the SunVibes Show with Supa Hype yesterday, the Up Top Boss identified the lead track as his previously released single From Rags To Riches. The single, released in February 2020, was produced by Damage Musiq and its official music video has over 21 million views on YouTube.

TeeJay said that he has so far locked in one international collaboration with hopes of adding more.

“Well at this point we only have one international collab on the album, which mi know it a go do great … mi can’t even tell you a who yet but we have some great artist pon di album, swear,” he said.

According to the singer, Jamaican features on the Rags To Riches album will include Rygin King, Skillibeng, Jada Kingdom, and Dexta Daps, along with producers Damage Musiq and Slingaz to name a few.

He was also recently spotted on a music video shoot with Dancehall deejay Govana.

Teejay said the album will be a reflection of unity in the Dancehall space and will show his growth as an artist. “The album also show unity same way, it a go show greatness. It a go show, I’m not just a regular artist, we try create a legend in the making you understand. Yeah, it a show whole heap a growth in a Teejay career.”

Fans will get a chance to hear a teaser from the collection soon, as he plans on dropping a new track this month.

Meeting Timberland

Teejay met with renowned record executive Timberland back in May, and shared the memorable moment with his Instagram followers, saying in the caption, “Guess who loves rags to riches tag him if you know this legend. it was such an honor to be in this room.”

The deejay again spoke about the meeting, revealing that he visited Timberland at his home. The music producer listened to his entire album and subsequently offered some professional advice on moving forward. An evidently proud Teejay said he was extremely grateful for the opportunity.
