Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt has taken over Spotify’s Taste playlist this month.

“The fastest man in the world is taking over the #Taste playlist this month. Hit the link to see what @usainbolt is listening to these days,”  Spotify announced in a Tweet today.

The 100m record-breaker is the first Jamaican athlete turned musician to curate a playlist on the algorithm-driven platform.

The over 2-hour long playlist, captioned “sophisticated palates only,” already has over 84,000 likes.

Among the Dancehall songs featured are Crocodile Teeth by Skillibeng, Timing by Bolt and NJ, Image by Masicka, Dweet by Christopher Martin, Gal Policy by Kranium, Toast by Koffee, Roll Deep by 10Tik, Family by Popcaan, Champ by Govana, and Come Home by Vybz Kartel.

Usain Bolt, who is close friends with Chris Martin, has several music projects with his business partner NJ since launching his career as a music producer and singer two years ago.

His latest, the Clock Work Riddim, peaked in the top twenty on the iTunes reggae chart and had features from several Dancehall stars including Vybz Kartel, Chris Martin, ZJ Liquid and others.

In April, the self-titled “see no limits” sprint star lamented about his inability to so far gain general acceptance in the Dancehall music space.  Bolt’s lamentations came after Popcaan had, earlier this year, rubbished the Living the Dream single, which was a crooning collab with Bolt and NJ.

In a recent interview with Anthony Miller of the Entertainment Report, Bolt revealed that he had reached out to Popcaan before to join him on his musical journey but that it didn’t materialize.

However, not to be deterred, Bolt has found favor with Dancehall hitmaker Cham and super-producer Dave Kelly, with whom Cham says he will be releasing more projects soon.
