The Moms Of Dancehall: Artists Flood Social Media With Mother’s Day Messages
Moms were out and stunting on the gram for Mother’s Day with a plethora of dancehall artists using the platform to highlight and ‘big up’ their mommas.
The loving gesture for the women that helped to mold them into the great entertainers that they are today is something fans, among others appreciated, with many getting an opportunity to see at least one of the parents of their favorite stars.
DancehallMag is sharing a round-up of artists that took to the gram to shout out their special lady.
Agent Sasco
While Agent Sasco’s mother is no longer around, the Dancehall deejay used Instagram to give thanks for her life noting that he was ‘forever grateful’.
“I am forever grateful for the mother you were. #HappyMothersDay, ” said Sasco who shared a photo of his late mother.
The Winning hit-maker also used the platform to acknowledge his wife, who is the mother of their two children, Lauren and Joshua.
Bounty Killer
Like Agent Sasco, veteran dancehall artiste Bounty Killer lost his mom nine years earlier. However, the prolific deejay wasn’t going to let the day pass without telling his fans among others how much he loved and misses his mom, affectionately called ‘Miss Ivey’.
Killer shared that to commemorate the special day for mothers he had recently painted his mother’s head stone.
“Fresh paint pon mama head stone for Mother’s Day celebration,” shared Killer on the gram.
In a subsequent post, Killer added, ” Happy Mother’s Day to my beloved mom and all the mother’s of this world biological or foster moms sincerely love.”
The deejay also used the platform to remind fans that he was the first artiste from his genre to dedicate a song to moms, Killer said his single “Mama” was released in 1996.

D’Angel
The lady of the dancehall, D’Angel, kept it short and sweet as she highlighted her mother on the platform, sharing a photo of herself and her son posing alongside her mother.
“Happy mothers day to us,” said Angel on the platform, who also wished herself a happy mother’s day.
“Mommy, you taught me how to be a good mom and the sacrifices and dedication it takes… thank you from mom the bottom of my heart,” she added.

Delomar
One half of the dancehall duo RDX, Delomar, took to the gram to celebrate his mom. The artiste shared a photo of his special lady, Doreth Bingham, who interesting to note is quite hip, having an Instagram account of her own.

Dovey Magnum
Fans could feel the emotions in Dovey Magnum’s heartfelt mother’s day message as she used the occasion to highlight the strength of her mother, affectionately called ‘Aunty Sharon’ by some.
“Happy mother’s day mom I love 💕 you endlessly mother of 5 beautiful independent young ladies I honor your strength your sacrifices for us it was never easy but we had happy times and we were all happy and blessed with what you could have provided, ” said Dovey Magnum on IG.

I-Octane
I-Octane put out the effort in his caption as he shared a very special message for his mother on the day for mothers.
The artiste who shared a video of his mom at swimming lessons noted that she had “sacrificed her entire life for the happiness” of he and his siblings and it was something he was very grateful for noting that he could never turn his back on his mother.

While a mom herself, veteran dancehall artiste Macka Diamond stunned when she showed off her mother on the gram.
In honour of her mother, Elma Stephens, who also has an IG account,the ‘Dye Dye’ hit-maker shared a cute throw back video of herself and her mom grocery shopping in Canada.
While the video showcases Stephens’ spunky personality giving fans and insight into where Macka gets her upbeat attitude from, things take on a more serious vibe as the artiste expressed gratitude for her mother always being supportive of her, even when others had turned their backs.

While Sean Paul maintains a low-key vibe on the gram, he was out repping his mother on the platform for mother’s day. Sean Paul thanked his mom for always supporting the family. The dancehall star also asked God to continue to bless his mother with good health.

Dancehall artise Spice may be a chef herself who can throw it down in the kitchen but it turns out that no matter how mature she gets she’ll always love her mother’s cooking.
The queen of the dancehall candidly shared with fans how much she missed her mother’s cooking as she wrote a special mother’s day greeting for her mom affectionally called Mama Gella.
“Happy Mothers Day Mama Gella, I watched you turn water into wine and it mold into the strong woman I am today,” said Spice on the gram.

Shaggy
Shaggy and his mom were twinning on the gram for Mother’s Day as the artiste shared several photos of himself posing alongside his mom, who many fans noted that he resembled.

The veteran dancehall artiste, also used the occasion to share mother’s day wishes for his wife Rebecca, who he thanked for keeping it together “especially throughout these rough times”.

Incarcerated entertainer Vybz Kartel also took to the gram to share special mother’s day wishes for his mother and mother of his children.
Vybz Kartel gave fans a treat when he shared a photo of his mother, Teresa Palmer.
