American pop singer Kelly Clarkson brought down the house, performing a Reggae rendition to British singer Adele’s 2016 hit Send My Love (To Your New Lover) on her daytime TV series – The Kelly Clarkson Show, which airs on NBC.

The Grammy award-winning singer grabbed major attention after her euphonic live interpretation of the song with Reggae-lite acoustics backed by her band.

Clarkson, 39, who is a coach on The Voice can do no wrong as witnessed with the way she easily swanked her way through Adele’s already tough arrangement nailing every pitch while delivering the choruses, “Send my love to your new lover/ Treat her better/ We’ve gotta let go of all of our ghosts/ We both know we ain’t kids no more.”

The hit single, Send My Love is featured on the English songbird’s third album, 25. It was co-written by Adele, Max Martin, and Shellback and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 5 in the United Kingdom in 2016. It has been certified platinum in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Clarkson is no stranger to dabbling in Reggae beats, her 2019 hit single Heat was remixed on several rhythms, one in particular by Easy Star All-Stars, and Michael Goldwasser was supported with heavy Reggae impressions. She also collaborated with fellow The Voice judges, John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani sampling Bob Marley’s One Love on a promotional stint for the show last year.

Kelly will be returning for The Voice’s nineteenth season, juggling between gigs such as her Daytime Emmy Award-winning television talk show. She’s expected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021, being inducted into the category of Recording. Clarkson also plans on releasing a new album this year.
