American rapper Rich The Kid is kicking it in Jamaica with his crew and linking with his local “Top Shottas” which include Dancehall deejays Popcaan and Skillibeng.

The rapper shared a few videos and photos on Instagram which suggest that he might have arrived on the island yesterday.

In a video clip posted a day ago he’s seen at what appears to be a guest house in the country dancing and ‘celebrating’ to the tune of Skillibeng’s Crocodile Teeth, and tagging the artiste with the caption, “When that check hit 🇯🇲.”

That check might have sprung from a multi-million deal he signed with Rostrum Records in partnership with BMG which was announced three days ago.  According to Billboard, the platinum-selling rapper struck a deal to remain independent but will release new music under the label that was once home to Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.

“How he signed a deal but still independent ??? what’s next you could never expect.. I am teaching you how to become major and keep your ownership,” the rapper bragged in another IG post.

Today, he kept the IG uploads coming to show him hanging with Skilli and the Unruly Boss himself, Popcaan and with this he captioned the share, “Top Shottas 🇯🇲😒.”

The Dancehall stars are definitely showing the Plug Walk rapper how it’s done in Jamrock, immersing their par with lots of weed smoking and some exclusive dance lessons from Popcaan.

More of his expeditions saw him at Frenchman’s Cove beach in Port Antonio, simply taking in the sights and sipping on some Red Stripe beer.

Rich The Kid, 28, whose real name is Dimitri Leslie Roger was just arrested at LAX airport last month for allegedly possessing a loaded firearm in his carry-on baggage. He was taken into custody and marched away in handcuffs after officials located the concealed weapon, TMZ first reported as it published a video of the arrest. It seems he needed to blow off some steam and celebrate, and what better way than to head to Jamdown.

There’s no telling if the Queens-born rapper tapped his Dancehall ‘Top Shottas’ for a cross-genre collab, he does seem to be a huge Skillibeng fan as other posts caught him rocking out to more of the deejay’s songs and tagging his label, EastSyde Records.
