After making his vocal presence heard in two soundtracks in the blockbuster movie Baywatch, in 2017, and playing a role in the Jamaican film Shottas, Agent Sasco says he is ready to transition over to the big screen, if and when he is approached.

Responding to questions asked by movie-maker and actress Dahlia Harris during the Two Live Crew show on Radio Jamaica recently, about whether he would like to take a route similar to his American counterpart Will Smith, who meandered over to acting in movies after cementing himself as a rapper, Sasco said he was open to being approached.

“Interestingly enough I have been doing some work like for example with Paramount Pictures on some of the sound tracks.  I did some what them call vocalizations, for the Baywatch movie and dem sen a couple more tings, you know.  It’s the most amazing ting, you just making noise pretty much, and dem find ways (to insert it in the film),” Sasco explained.

“So I am very much open to that whenever the opportunities present themselves wi can take advantage when wi ready,” he said.

Sasco was featured on two compositions in the Baywatch movie, Off the Jetty and Leeds – To the Tower in The Paramount Picture which starred Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Zac Efron.   The film’s soundtracks also featured Sean Paul’s No Lie with Dua Lipa, Sean Kingston’s Give It to Me Twice (Party Favor) featuring Rich The Kid and Touch Down featuring Stefflon Don and KSI.

He also played the role of Blacka in Shottas, where his character died after being  shot several times in his chest by a police officer while he was sitting in front of his girlfriend on a motorbike during a shootout, which ultimately means he will not be able to feature in the upcoming planned sequel to the movie.

Sasco, who grew up in Kintyre, in rural St. Andrew, got his big break in 2000 at age 17, when Spragga Benz recorded a song he penned, titled dubbed Big Up All The  Shotta Dem.

His discography since his debut two decades ago, includes three studio albums and more than 350 singles, including collabs with fellow Jamaican superstars such as Shaggy, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, Spragga Benz, Sean Paul, Josie Wales, Bounty Killer, Maxi Priest, Buju Banton, Michael Rose and Freddie McGregor.

Sasco, whose given name is Jeffery Campbell, has been featured on tracks with Grammy-award winners Kanye West (I’m In It, Yeezus, 2013) and Kendrick Lamar’s The Blacker The Berry released in 2015.   His feature with Lamar was certified gold after selling more than 500,000 copies.

Lamar also performed The Blacker The Berry at the 2016 Grammy Awards, which was hailed as one of the best Grammy performances of all time.

However, according to The Fader, while the Kanye and Kendrick cameos have doubtlessly raised Sasco’s profile, “it’s worth noting that he is not acknowledged as a featured artist on official releases of either record, leaving it to dancehall fans and astute observers to note and celebrate his role on each”.

“In an exhaustive and otherwise well-informed article offering biographies of Kanye’s 50-plus Yeezus contributors and collaborators, Myspace.com overlooked him entirely, surmising that the Jeffrey Campbell listed as a writer on “I’m In It” must be the ladies’ shoe designer by the same name,” it noted.

The Camperdown High School old boy’s work is also featured on Mutant Brain, an original song created for the launch of the KENZO world ad campaign by French luxury brand Kenzo parafums in 2016.

The Loco singer, who holds credentials in business management from, the University of Sunderland, has also performed on solo shows and major festivals across Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
