Adi’Anna Ashanti Palmer, the daughter of Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, received an unwelcomed birthday surprise — a trip to a hospital emergency room.

In an Instagram post three days ago, the ‘GirlBoss’, now 14 years old, assured her 75,000 followers that she will be ok and that it was “prayer time!” on her special day.

“I wanna thank you all for the birthday wishes. I spent half of the day in an emergency room but I will be ok,” she said. “Thank you, I felt the love. I won’t be able to reply to every dm but I appreciate it all! Y’all favorite niece is 14 years old today! 🌸”

Adi’Anna is Kartel’s oldest daughter, with businesswoman Sherika Todd.

Todd, in an Instagram post, said, “It Was Prayer Time… 🙏 My Child…. The Blessings Of The Lord Is Upon Your Life! I Love You & As Much As I Want You To Remain A Baby Forever, I’m Happy That You Don’t Have To Go By What You Are Told, You Can See Life For What It Is.”

“Mommy Loves You & You’ll Forever Be My Lil Nugget! Happy Birthday Baby! I Love You! I’ve Loved You For 14 Years & 9 Months & I’m Gonna Love You For A Million & Fourteen More! Happy Birthday Baby,” she continued.

In July 2019, a proud Kartel shared the news that Adi’Anna had secured a place at Wolmer’s Girls’ High School following the successful completion of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations. “Hey #gazanation Help me send congratulations to my? Princess ❤ on her #pep pass for #wolmersgirls Congrats baby girl. I’m so proud of you,” he wrote.

For her birthday last year, he released the song Adianna under his own imprint. “Gyal swear to God a you mi rather but mi could a never love you like mi daughter Adianna,” he deejayed over a soft, mellow beat.

In August 2020, the teen launched her own record label Adianna Music, which released Vybz Kartel’s raunchy Play Our Song, as its debut production.

She shared in an Instagram post later that month, that more new songs would be forthcoming from her father, her brothers Vybz and Addi, as well as Gaza Slim and Sikka Rymes, under the new label.

Vybz Kartel, who has been incarcerated since September 2011, has six more kids with four other women.  Three of the boys — the oldest, 17-year-old Jaheim ‘Likkle Vybz’, 16-year-old Akheel ‘Likkle Addi’, and Aiko ‘World Boss Jr.’ Palmer — were fathered with his wife and businesswoman Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson.

He has two other sons: Kahieme, and Shahiem who resides in the US. His youngest daughter, Amani, is about 10 and lives in Canada.
