American Hip-Hop and R&B singer YK Osiris said he plans on returning to Jamaica very soon for another collab with Dancehall artist Jah Vinci, along with a video shoot in Kingston.

The Golden Child singer really had the time of his life on the island this week, while treating his current boo to a Valentine’s getaway at the bungalows over-the-water at the Sandals Royal Resort in Montego Bay.  Many Jamaican fans declared him an honorary Minister of Tourism as he shared his ‘overnight island boy’ antics on the ‘Gram, while immersing himself in the culture and food.

During an Instagram Live yesterday, as he was preparing to leave for the airport, the 22-year-old was joined by Jah Vinci when the singers revealed their plans for future music.

“I’m coming back down here…I’m coming to Kingston, next week,” YK told Jah Vinci. “We gotta bring the whole Jamaica out.”

Jah Vinci signaled that he was ready, saying “Yeah bro, link up dawg.”

“Yow..dem keep on a ask mi if we nah go do a song. I tell dem seh we did that sh-t already bro,” Vinci added, alluding to their 2019 collab Closer, which appeared on YK’s debut The Golden Child album.

Osiris responded, “We gotta do something else, though, we gotta do something crazy. Me and you gotta do a hit, we doing hits. We doing a video in Jamaica, in Kingston.”

“Yeah man,” Jah Vinci agreed.

The Dancehall singer then recalled that he enjoyed their last link up in Atlanta during the making of Closer. “When mi inna Atlanta di dawg treat mi good. We pull up and we vibe, you naah mean. We go inna di studio, hold a vibe.”

Speaking on their collaboration during a 2019 interview with Apple Music, YK said “I love reggae. For me, going to that culture shows versatility. Like, nobody doing that right now at my age. Jah Vinci, he’s from Jamaica. My dad is into Jamaican culture.”

YK Osiris has developed quite a fanbase since breaking out in 2017 with his certified platinum song, Worth It. One of his latest tracks Money Keep Coming also got some rotation.

Jah Vinci first attained prominence in Dancehall with the 2009 hit record, Watch Your Friends, which was produced by Ainsley ‘Notnice’ Morris.  The producer and artist were affiliated with the Vybz Kartel-led Portmore/GAZA Empire at the time.

Vinci’s unmistakable voice also assisted NotNice on Quada’s 2018 breakthrough Celebration.   The producer-singer duo joined forces again when Vinci signed to Morris’ NotNice Records label, two years ago.

The union resulted in the 7-track I Am The World Singer EP which was released late last year with tracks like Winning, U Alone, and Virgin.

Meanwhile, Jah Vinci’s Gaza-era track Baby I’m Alone, seems to have made an impression on YK Osiris, some eleven years after its release. YK belted out renditions of that song and Virgin, for Instagram followers.

During this farewell to the island, he also shared clips of some eccentric dancing to Koffee‘s smash hit, Lockdown.

Wayne Wonder‘s No Letting Go was also a favorite.

And on the final, final, final farewell, he left his blessings and ‘respect’.
