Best New Dancehall Music This Week: Masicka, Alkaline, Kranium, Dexta Daps & More

Our picks for best Dancehall releases this week have given us several captivating love tunes from the likes of Stalk Ashley, Kranium and Stefflon Don, while Teejay and Dexta Daps joined in on the slow jams, they took things a little deeper into pretty lecherous territories.

True to form, you can rely on Blvk H3ro and Kabaka Pyramid for a little motivation to lift you up when you’re feeling down, but nothing feels more moving than Masicka and Tarrus Riley in their mega collab, Corner, an impactful and heartening ballad destined to reach great heights.

Kranium – Won’t Judge

In another one of his love triangles, Dancehall’s very charming, Kranium lures us in with his new single, Won’t Judge. The track and music video debuted today (along with his latest EP, Toxic ) to take us through this very complicated relationship. “Baby don’t you worry, yeah you with him come and f—k me. Oh I won’t judge, please believe me,” Kranium tells his part-time beau but it’s a little more difficult than that, you see her fiancé just proposed. Watch more here –

Teejay – Water Truck

Dancehall crooner, Teejay released this intoxicating new single, Water Truck today. Getting straight to the point about all the things he wants to do to his girl in those signature sugary falsettos notes along with the added sexy visuals, Teejay sure knows how to set off a romantic mood. Kabaka Pyramid – Doh Say A Word

He’s his own cheerleader; Kabaka Pyramid has always said he doesn’t need anyone to open doors for him. In his new track Doh Say A Word, the Reggae entertainer raps his patois lingos on a trippy baseline to show how he encouraged his own greatness, “Yo mi say you ting shot, you have the place lock, you lyrics intact … ” he tells himself while retorting a few coups of his winning streak. Vybz Kartel & Sikka Rymes – Force

Vybz Kartel and Sikka Rymes have a spicy new music video to go along with their latest single Force, which both premiered today. Filling the visuals with energetic pretty girls landing some bendy dance routine, the two deejays egg them on with some bawdy and boosting lyrics. Watch here –

Lanae – Thank God Him Gone

Dancehall newcomer, Lanae joins the roster of new releases this week with her single Thank God Him Gone. The singer says she’s finally free from her “crosses” ex-man, but she’s the least bit worried, “Mi can find a better man … remember a woman mi name, mi body full a luck.” Watch more here –

Deep Jahi & Santos – Grim Reaper

Dancehall artistes Deep Jahi and Santos are a double threat in their new single Grim Reaper. Deep Jahi flexes his traphall delivery to assert his ruthless exploits with his “Keltec weapon” in hand, while Santos unleashes his warning in blasé flows on the hook. Watch more here –

Alkaline – Top Prize

Life has been a rough journey for Alkaline, but in a chase that involves ignoring the ‘pathetic haters’ along with his tenacity, the Champion Boy deejay says now he’s among the prestige in the spotlight, the Top Prize! Listen more in the official audio here –

 Squash – 1Up

The 6ix Boss Squash reminds us all that he still has 1Up on many. Lacing his flossy rhymes on the acoustics from Nintendo’s Mario Bros video game, Squash says, “None a dem nuh near me,” while making reference to his Maybach, 24k gold on his chain, a fully loaded Glock 19, along with his badman appeal and never-ending list of girls as proof that he’s in a league above the rest. Stalk Ashley – Drivers License (Remix)

Stalk Ashley is overwhelmed with emotions for an unreachable love in her new single Driver’s License. The Dancehall singer purrs her achingly rhythmic tones yearning for the company of a certain someone to take a ride with her now that she’s got her driver’s license but he’s too busy with that ‘blond girl’. Vershon – Stick By Me

Dancehall artists, Vershon dropped a new track and visuals for his single Stick By Me today, which will appear on his fast-approaching EP that’s slated for release on March 5. The deejay says he needs a ‘ride or die’ girl to stick by him even through some chancy situations as can be seen in the Terminal 4 Media music video. Watch it below –

Blvk H3ro – Outside

Blvk H3ro is back this week with another new track, Outside. On a continuous path to uplift and motivate his fellow youths, the new visuals of the song skit a scenario of holding faith in those bleak times and working diligently towards your goals to see them come to fruition. Watch here –

Dexta Daps – WIFI

After the news that he will be dropping a deluxe version of his most recent album, Vent, Dancehall crooner, Dexta Daps debuted the official audio for his single WIFI today, which will appear on the new collection. In his usually lustful serenading delivery, Daps takes us through one of his sexcapades and describes the bond he feels for his boo to an Internet connection, WIFI, then continues to metaphorically play with the context of such to detail the experience. Stefflon Don Featuring Tiwa Savage & Rema – Can’t Let You Go (Remix)

Dancehall vixen, Stefflon Don dropped the remix for her previously released single Cant Let You Go today that now features Nigerian singers, Tiwa Savage and Rema. Kranium – Toxic

Toxic is the lead track on Kranium’s newly released EP that debuted today. In this one, the Dancehall singer finds himself in a toxic love affair that’s so strong “its worst than a spell” and crooning verses like, “It’s so good but I know that it’s wrong.” Listen more here –

Jahvillani – Likkle Bit A Man

Jahvillani has a new video treatment for his previously released single Likkle Bit Man. The new production aired today to show the deejay sizing up himself to his mate’s ‘Peter Pan’ boyfriend. Masicka/Tarrus Riley & Dunw3ll- Corner

Dancehall deejay, Masicka teams up with singy singy Tarrus Riley for this uplifting new anthem, Corner, which released today. The Dunw3ll produced single verses the braves of a friendship so loyal that it sticks around no matter what trials are faced in one’s life. The visuals scenario friends coming to the aid of others in the messiest of times and when it’s needed the most, while Tarrus croons the hook, “I’m in yuh corner friend …anytime the trouble is on.
