Tyrical, Mr. Vegas

The war of words between Mr. Vegas and his former friend Tyrical, is fast becoming a tangled web, with the two Dancehall artists labelling each other as self-deceiving liars and traitors.

A few days ago in an Instagram Live, Vegas labelled Tyrical a liar, after the artiste claimed that he had helped Vegas to pen his Danny Browne-produced 1998 breakout hit Heads High.

Heads High has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide and has also been sampled 12 times by artistes worldwide according to WhoSampled.com, among them the likes of Nicki Minaj (MEGATRON), Black Eyed Peas (Get Original), Canadian rapper Tori Lanez (Number One), and New York-based rapper Action Branson (Actin Crazy).

Mr. Vegas also rejected comments made by Tyrical that he had forsaken him after making it big, even though he had stood by him through thick and thin in the cradle stages of his career, calling him up on stage shows when he was trying to break out in the industry and helping him to pen Heads High.

According to Vegas, if Tyrical wanted to have the truth elucidated, he would have sought to reason with him publicly “like two big people” instead of ranting online by himself.

“M a nuh di type a artiste weh yuh haffi guh through security fi get to mi.  Suh if yuh have suppm weh yuh want talk seh an yuh want di people dem hear, mi think di bes way, a fi forward pon di reasoning an di people dem can hear weh me a seh and can hear weh you a seh.  Outside a dat, it becomes gossip.  Caw mi know everybaddy waan guh viral; the era wi in, everybody waan guh viral… If yuh tink seh yuh write mi song, reach out to me…” Vegas said.

It was in his few closing sentences that Vegas lashed out full blast at Tyrical, who is known for singles including Waan My Own, Ghetto Prayer, and for writing Bounty Killer‘s Sufferer.

“Suh yuh naw no grouse, yuh jus a meck noise becaw yuh waan play victim an blame sumbaddy fi yuh nuh reach noweh inna life.  Stop blaming people for blowing the opportunity.   Becaw oonu blow di opportunity weh oonu did have.  Stop blaming people fi oonu downfall.  Stop blaming people becaw oonu waste di chance weh oonu get inna life.  Nuh come 20, 30 years later a blame people fi nuh reach noweh inna life.  Stop it!” he declared.

“Suh if yuh tink seh mi do yuh wrong inna life, reach out.  Nuh badda guh a yuh grave wid it,” he added.

Tyrical Responds

Today, however, Tyrical shot back at Vegas, in a video post he said was aimed at repudiating comments he heard Vegas make in an interview.   Tyrical contested Vegas’ claims that he had nothing to do with the writing of Heads High.

He captioned the post: “Miss Vegas doing what he is good at trace”.

“Yuh tell a next big lie weh yuh seh me an yuh did separate when Heads High come about… yuh hear weh yuh seh, mi come check yuh when yuh a write Heads High and run guh in mi car for a dictionary,”  Tyrical said.

“B_boclaat, hey bwoy, yuh si seh yuh a waan evil bwoy!  Yuh si seh yuh a tell lie an tie up yuhself!   Yow, yute, a long time mi a watch yuh a disrespect everybaddy an a attack everybaddy an mi know yuh dangerous enuh, and I know you would come at me.”
