New York-based Dancehall artiste HoodCelebrityy impressed fans on Instagram over the weekend as she sampled top Dancehall music producer, Tony Kelly’s 1998 Bookshelf Riddim. Though Kelly reshared the clip on his Instagram, with appreciation and complete endorsement, Hood is apparently awaiting Sean Paul’s approval before releasing the full track.

In her IG uploads, the 29-year-old Jamaican was stunting in an all-white outfit and vibrant blue braided extensions, while riding in the back of a dollar van in the Bronx, NY as she showed off her riddim riding skills to promote an upcoming record and her new album.

With the assist of selector DJ Madout, HoodCelebrityy previewed the new track, toasting the intro, “Is ah ole time chune mi a bring back yuh nuh, make we take it back to basic nuh,” as she rocked out some old Dancehall dance moves.

The Walking Trophy singer, whose real name is Tina Pinnock, teased her lyrics which brag that her “good pretty face,” “nice likkle shape” and “steam fish and okra body” are simply ‘maddening’ the jealous minded.

In another video, HoodCelebrityy gave a special shout-out to Tony Kelly, and Sean Paul especially, who she says was a huge influence for her new track.

“Waiting on Sean Paul blessings to release this song. Tag Sean Paul an tell him. Let’s do this one for the culture,” she wrote on Instagram today.

Hood is probably extra cautious as she and her record label, the KSR Group, were sued last year by Reggae star Nardo Ranks over allegedly stolen lyrics in her Run Di Road single.

If she gets clearance, Hood will join a long roster of deejays that have voiced on Kelly’s widely successful riddim, some of these include and landed hits for Beenie Man with the flagship track Bookshelf, Sasha with Dat Sexy Body, Wayne Wonder’s Watching You, Mr. VegasJack It Up, Tanya StephensFrom Yo Hot, Tanto Metro & Devonte’s Say Wooee and Sean Paul’s Deport Dem which landed on the Billboard R& B charts.
