It was Bounty Killer’s turn in the hot seat on Wednesday’s episode of Magnum’s ‘Spice It Up” talk show hosted by the very vivacious Queen of Dancehall, Spice. Leave it to the Genie singer to get the Warlord to open up, and quite candidly so, about how he felt when his former flame and Dancehall artiste D’Angel ran off with his then archenemy, Beenie Man.

It was sometime in 2005 when the two split, D’Angel, a model at the time, would later reveal to the media that her reasons for leaving the Dancehall heavyweight back then was due to him disobliging her transition into the music business. Well, evidently we see Beenie was more accommodating. Not only did they appear in several tracks together back then but later tied the knot and had a son, Marco Dean.

Bounty told Spice, “People nuh know say dat di hurt me. Mi never cry tears but come on, I’m a man. Mi did deh wid a woman fi seven years and she get up, go deh wid yuh archrival, it must hurt yuh! It did hurt Bounty!” he admitted. Like many, Spice was completely taken aback at his raw honestly, “Me never know!” she exclaimed at his confession.

The now very matured and seasoned veteran said he is only human, further adding, “Mi nuh robot, mi a wah human being, mi a Miss Ivey son. It never really conquer mi, it never make mi broke down, it never did anything extraordinary to mi but mi did hurt, mi did vex!”

Undeniably one of the most stone-cold Dancehall deejays of all time, Bounty’s feelings on the matter, especially back then would have never been detected. Spice’s enlightening interview certainly showed viewers another dimension of Bounty’s growth over the years.

Today we see Bounty and Beenie as the best of friends, appearing in the epic Verzuz Battle in May and a pending Verzuz Tour on the way.

D’Angel also revealed in a Star interview last year that there is no bad blood with Bounty Killer and that they are “cool”.
