Dancehall act Dovey Magnum is not retracting her sentiment that established Jamaican artistes should be more charitable.

This comes after a comment she made lauding Shenseea for giving away 100 new tablets attracted keyboard warriors.

Under the post, the Bawl Out artiste said, “This why I’ll always support you. Always giving!! I wish the others can take notes that’s in the position to way more see this.”

But some social media users were quick to attack the artiste and question her charitable efforts.

“You in the same position, weh ya do??” one person asked.

“Then u take notes nuh.”

Another added, “So what abt u?? Anything helps if a even 50.”

Magnum caught wind of the comments and took to her Instagram page to address the critics. The U.S-based entertainer reiterated her point that several artistes are in a better financial position to assist the nation but fail to.

“Mi know seh nuff a we bloodcl**t dunce because a lot of times you guys see comment and unno just see the comment, nuh read it with understanding,” she said in a video post. “Me seh weh di f**k mi seh and mi nah change mi bloodcl**t mouth… Mi seh big up Shenseea and weh she do because as a young artiste she show up nuff a di artiste dem weh seh dem a run the place and dem a dis and dem a dat…

“Weh she do is very good. Me nuh need fi post weh me do from weh mi nuh do. Shenseea donate 100 tablet; mi know seh if mi fi talk weh mi do from before even quarantine start or the people dem weh get help, dem nah go have a problem with what the f**k I said.”

She added, “Memba seh mi nuh get nuh years inna my career yet fi run up and down pon the stage dem and go the places weh other artistes go… If I should post what I give or do the same bruck ones taking (talking) shit would say I’m hyping.”

Shenseea was among commenters who showed support for her message.

“Lol u nuh easy enu don’t mek dem upset u mami! Nuff love,” the Blessed singjay said.

“Dovey you said nothing wrong, the truth always hurt,” one person said.

“The Jamaican music industry have a lot of badmind and selfishness so a lot of those artists will never donate a thing them selfish,” another said in part.

“Honestly I knew that someone would have taken your comment out of context…but thats ok suh them tan.”

Shenseea is the latest act to donate tablets to assist less fortunate children in navigating the COVID-induced online schooling. Another Romeich Entertainment signee, Ding Dong, as well selector DJ Lava Sound recently gave away tablets for the same cause.
