Dancehall superstar Shenseea has seemingly returned to Jamaica, after recent performances in the United States, with goodies in tow bringing with her over one hundred Amazon Kindle tablets that she plans to distribute to needy students.

Taking to her Instagram the Blessed songstress indicated that she is making the donation as a means to support children who are having difficulties in accessing online schooling as a result of the pandemic.

“I bought over one hundred tablets for kids who are in need, so if you or anybody that you know is in need of a tablet, please to let me know” she remarked via a video she had uploaded to her Instagram.

She related that the purchase came about as a result of a promise she made to herself that she would do a giveaway after her first show since quarantine became a thing.

“I feel like with parents being underpaid right now because they don’t have a choice and some of you guys don’t even have a job to purchase a tablet or a laptop for your kids to participate in online schooling. It is extremely vital for kids to have access to and be given a chance to an education,” she pointed out in the video.

She notes that being a single mom she was understanding of what some parents were facing. “This is something that has been bothering me since the lockdown especially since I’m a single mom I can only imagine what some parents are going through” she wrote below the post.

She further explained that the tablets will be distributed island-wide and anybody and even schools were welcomed to reach out to her or any member of team to see how a tablet could be accessed for a needy child. However, she lamented that she won’t be able to see the tablets because she is still in mandatory quarantine.

She now follows in the footsteps of fellow Romeich Entertainment managed artiste Ding Dong, who also made a similar donation to children in his native community of Nannyville. The Gweh singer had also made purchases of the tablets that were subsequently matched by Grace Foods, for whom he is a brand ambassador, and had distributed the devices in October.

The tablets donated by Shenseea will bare her logo. This she notes was done to prevent individuals from selling them to unsuspecting persons. “So if you see anybody trying to sell you this tablet, please don’t buy it, mi buy it fi oonu already, no but it from nobody, it’s free” she declared to the public.

This gesture has down well with a number of people to include her fellow artistes.

Fellow artiste Jada Kingdom commented “This is wonderful” while Ce’cile was also succinct with “This is nice” and Dovey Magnum remarked “This why I’ll always support you. Always giving!! I wish the others can take notes that’s in the position to way more see this!.

One person commented showing her need for the tablet, “I hope I can win one of these.. my daughter own broken” while another, seemingly a student, remarked “I’m in need I’m in 6th form and it’s hard using my phone to do the school work”.

2020 has been a tough year but things have been going well for the Shenyeng Boss. Her recent hit track Lighter, a collab, with Tarrus Riley has recently surpassed twenty million views on YouTube. She has also been appointed a brand ambassador for Rihanna’s Fenty X Savage and PrettyLittleThing clothing lines.
