Dreams do come through with the right amount of perseverance and dedication. This combination has worked for Dancehall’s R&B styled singer Stalk Ashley who has scored with her collaboration with Alkaline called Incognito.

The track which was released last Friday, October 23, is the No. 1 Trending video in Jamaica with over 300,000 views and a lot of positive feedback from fans.

The best part for Ashley is she got to work with an artiste that she has admired for a long time. In fact, a few years ago Ashley was known for her covers of Alkaline’s songs.

She took to Twitter to explain her admiration and excitement about the new track.

“Everybody has their favorite and Alkaline is mine Idc IDFC,” she posted.

She added: “He’s been MY artiste !! I’ve been a fan from him a seh “emedicusmobestaliannasucadiatucazmo” or whateva! 2-3 years ago I was doing covers of his songs. Now we have a whole song together ????? Happy is a downplay.”

Ashley also said that even though she never met Alkaline she was honored to have worked with his team.

“I’ve never met Alkaline in person. We met over the innanets & him and I were both so excited to collaborate. It was refreshing af!! His team are really cool people, all in all I never had one bad experience in the process. Big Big respect to Team Alkaline,” she posted.

Ashley has been putting in the work and back in 2019, she was recruited by British rap sensation Stormzy to cover Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl alongside him at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. She also had other breakthrough successes after teaming up with “In2” hitmakers WSTRN for the song Deserted, as well as dropping Open.

Last year Ashley spoke with Notion magazine about her love of music and why she decided to pursue it as a career.

“When I was growing up I didn’t really get to make my own decisions on the music I listened to, I just listen to what people around me were listening to I never had the opportunity to really build my own taste until I was much older mainly because I grew up in a really religious household,” she said.

“So my relationship has most definitely changed I have a much closer relationship with music now, I listen to music every single day. I’ve had the opportunity to discover music on my own and find sounds that I love,” she continued.

This track is destined to do well based on the initial response from fans.

“Impressive. Not one bad word, how u make raunchy music clean and also quality vocals and lyricism. Dis tuff tuff tuff tuff,” this fan said and this one added: “It’s like these days Alkaline is speaking different language on these records, man style just different, listen the man verse dawg.”

Most of the more than 5000 comments on the song indicate that fans approved of the melodious collaboration.
