Dancehall artiste Jahmiel has sought to address the notion that he is no longer a member of the MVP alliance.

Speaking on Onstage yesterday, the Gain The World singer, when asked to clear up the rumor, disclosed that everything was good between himself and the other two members of the MVP collective, Mavado and Alkaline.

“Everything good man, see wha me a say, mi no know weh dat a come from but mi still want the people fi understand say a three different individuals, see wha mi a say, wid dem own brand” he remarked, adding that he also respresents the Patriotz, his own sort of personal enclave.

MVP is the dancehall collective of Mavado, aka the Gully Gad, Alkaline the Vendetta Boss, and Jahmiel representing the Patriotz. The “Most Valuable Players” in dancehall concept for the trio first came about in Jahmiel’s 2017 song Bad Dawg, in which he sang “and if you never know // don’t f$ck with MVP // In other words, Most Valuable Players // In other words, Mavado, Vendetta, Patriots // You see weh me a say?”

While it’s uncertain as to where those rumors arose, recent changes in Jahmiel’s management and other areas of his work life may have fueled them.

Jahmiel, in what he referred to as new beginnings, revealed that he is now working with new management, Sweet Music, and he is also producing a lot of his own music now, as is seen with his latest EP Revamp, which is co-produced with Quantanium Music.

The Strongest Soldier artiste further highlighted that he now feels like he has refocused, having a lot of time to think during the downtime because of the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He notes that he is now in a different place. “Mi feel like mi did a sleep and wake up, mi feel like the whole COVID-19 thing gimme a lot of time to think, mi feel like mi did too busy and then now mi tek a step back and look pon certain things and say this need fi change, that need fi change, refocused and a move forward right now”.

Jahmiel’s latest effort Revamp and the track The World has garnered a lot of positive feedback since their release, with persons complimenting it as a sort of going back to his roots.

The official video for The World premiered two days ago.
