Shabba, one half of the production duo of Shab Don Records, is counting his lucky stars after an accident left him nursing a broken arm and several cuts and bruises.

In a post on Instagram, he revealed the external injuries he had suffered during the incident involving his motorcycle and a car. His right arm appeared in a cast, while there was a large bandage on his right leg. However, the producer was in a state of gratitude looking at the upside, although lamenting the current times.

Linval “Shabba” Thompson Jnr. captioned the post by saying, “it could of worse Thank you father God still have me life (praying emoji) Thank you so much.”

The producer, who makes it a point to never show his face in photos, added: “was riding my bike and a woman lick me off nearly kill 2020 hurry up and done smh.”

2020 has indeed been a tumultuous year with the onset of the COVID-19 virus that has seriously impacted life and the economy. Jamaica has also seen the passing of a number of musicians, including most recently ‘Toots’ Hibbert, but luckily Shabba didn’t go down that road.

Since he made the post, he has been receiving a lot of kind words and support especially from members of the entertainment fraternity.

Dancehall artiste Chronic Law commented “Jah Jah (praying emojis) God a God we deh ya forever.

Up top boss TeeJay, who previously worked with the producer on the hits Shub Out and Henne and Weed, also sent some prayers.

Shaneil Muir, who has an upcoming track produced by Shabdon with Daddy1, also added her prayers.

Veteran selector Tony Matterhorn called on him to “stay safe mi bredda.”

It’s uncertain however as to what transpired or what caused the incident but fortunately, he seems to be on the path to recovery.

Shabdon Records, with co-producer Carlos Clarke, has had an impressive rise in the Jamaican music scene as the main production house behind the 6ixx team that includes Squash, Chronic Law, and Daddy1.

However, since then, they have expanded their reach and have worked with dancehall heavyweights such as Ding Dong, Popcaan, and Vybz Kartel, who voiced the producers’ most well-known record to date: Any Weather (2019)
