Reggae singer and percussionist Denver “Feluké” Smith has died. Feluké had been battling Stage 4 colon cancer since 2017 and was receiving treatment in Mexico.

His death comes after pleas for financial assistance were made in an Instagram Live in July. A GoFundMe account was then established to render assistance to the reggae artiste.

The Soul Alive singer was first diagnosed with cancer in 2014. In order to raise funds to offset expenses associated with low-dose radiation, ITP chemotherapy, alternative forms of cancer treatment, and diet changes, a benefit concert supported by the local and international music fraternity dubbed The Healing was held in September of 2017.

In September 2018, Feluké launched his seven-track EP Insight but in November 2019, doctors discovered a Colorectal Tumor protruding to his bladder. The tumor was outgrowing its blood supply, resulting in severe blood loss and low blood count hence the need for blood transfusion.

In December 2019 and March 2020, the artiste had surgical procedures done however, his kidneys were blocked which resulted in renal failure.

Dancehall artiste Mr Vegas tweeted about Feluké’s passing. “F#ck!!!! Walk goood bro!!! You will always be here with us!”
