It’s been two weeks since the sad news of Trinidad dancehall artiste K-Lion’s death hit fans and the dancehall music fraternity. Kwinton Thomas aka K-Lion of Belmont, Port of Spain reportedly died suddenly of a seizure-induced heart attack while playing football in Miami, Florida.

The 26-year-old launched to stardom with his hit singles such as Malandros, Rise Up and Extraordinary in the short span of his career, which began some two years ago. Lion was the face of a new generation of the dancehall genre in Trinidad & Tobago known as ‘Trinibad’ and also considered one of the leaders in the newly emerging arch of dancehall on the island called Zesser Music.

Last week emerged with a celebration of the young artiste as new music from his camp surfaced on the scene along with a new music video for his previously released track Private Zess featuring LRG that debuted back in February of this year.

The official music video for Private Zess premiered on June 17th courtesy of Starpoint Productions and the creative works of videographer, Bilal The Director. The visuals start with Lion riling up partygoers in a club as he throws out the verses of Private Zess. The scenes switch to another gathering; this time it’s a house party under more relaxed vibes, where LRG comes in to deliver is segment of the track.

The video takes deliberate opportunities to highlight the young deejay in what is now seen were some of his last days amongst friends and basking in life. Watch the Private Zess music video here –

K-Lion’s new single Z.I.P, i.e. Zess In Peace was also released on the same day on behalf of Damage Musiq and Zojak Worldwide. He sings this track asking the cynics to ‘just let him zess in peace.’

Instead of getting caught up in the negativity, Lions says he would much rather party with friends, enjoy his female company and living the good life, all summing up the true meaning of ‘zessing.’
