Shocking deaths have rocked the Up Top and Romeich Entertainment family after it was confirmed that TeeJay’s close friends ‘Grimmy’, considered his right-hand man and ‘Afro Man’, were shot dead in St. Andrew Jamaica on June 4th.

According to reports the shooting resulted in a double murder which claimed the lives of  27-year-old Romario Wallen, otherwise called ‘Bassa’ or ‘Grimmy Boss’ and Phillip Lewis, otherwise called ‘Afro Man’. Two others were injured as well. Their status is still unknown.

The deaths have reportedly saddened Romeich Entertainment’s boss Romeich Major, and dancehall songstress Shenseea as well.

Grimmy was well known to them as TeeJay often featured him in videos and even sang about him in some of his lyrics.

Reports further indicated that the group was standing on the roadside when gunmen exited a car and opened fire.

TeeJay posted a picture of the two men on his Instagram page with the caption: “two real youth e camp lose yesterday faith this @uptop_grimmyboss @affro_don_uptop until we meet again my friends #uptop4eva.”

Shenseea also extended her condolences. She posted: “RIP GRIMEY uptop_grimmyboss”.

Teejay seems to have really been hit hard as he deleted almost everything from his page so that the focus is just two pics of his friends. One of them is a short video clip with Grimmy saying: “You know how the thing go, Uptop forever.” Under that post Romeich commented: “Rest up me bredda.”

The other photo is from Teejay’s 2019 music video “Grimy” in which Grimmy was featured. Fans also commented with shock at the news. One fan said: “All now me cya believe say me dawqq gone tpc,” while another added: “Jah know grimmy r.i.p me genna.”

Losing someone as close as this is never easy and dancehall fans will totally understand if they don’t hear anything from Teejay for a while as he mourns the loss of a friend he surely considered a brother.
