Who ‘Buss’ Vybz Kartel? Tony Matterhorn Brings The Evidence, Open To Clash With Ricky Trooper

Dancehall soundclash legend Tony Matterhorn has again responded to claims by Ricky Trooper that he had nothing to do with Vybz Kartel’s rise to fame.

The veteran selector had previously responded to Trooper via an interview with DJ Wiz to discredit his claims. He yesterday did a follow-up interview with Wiz to provide evidence that he was indeed instrumental in the World Boss’s popularity.

He explained that he had songs from when Kartel went by the name Addi Banton.  ‘Addi Banton and him jus a change the name to Vybz Kartel’, he said.  He spoke about the songs while at the same time addressing Rohan Butler (Butla), who was Vybz Kartel’s first manager.  Matterhorn said, ‘Butla did voice it cause Butla feel offended tru mi seh me voice the tune so Butla, you voiced some Kartel and gave to me.’

Matterhorn then asked Wiz ‘Which song bus Vybz Kartel?’ to which they both agreed it was Gun Clown. He then proceeded to play two dubs of the song.

After playing the first version, he asked ‘Yuh hear the authenticity of the voice? This a before him know Bounty Killer. Tell Trooper to play a Kartel inah dah voice yah!’

After the second version, he said ‘This a when him go round Bounty Killer. Yuh hear the difference?’

‘If I want to take credit for saying me buss Vybz Kartel mi can cause three people buss Vybz Kartel: Fire Links, Matterhorn, Cash Money. Everybody else come afta.’

Matterhorn went on to some colorful words directed at Ricky Trooper. “Any p—- a chat if yuh cyaa back up yuh chat den go s— yuh mumma.”

Taking advantage of the tension between the two selectors, DJ Wiz proceeded to ask Matterhorn ‘If somebody brought the proper finances, set up the proper venue and everything, would you face Ricky Trooper one on one?’

To which Matterhorn emphatically replied “Mi kill dah p—- deh any day any time. Even though Trooper is a p—-, him naah go back down and me never ago back down.”

This is something that fans of both parties would be eager to see. Let’s hope the right promoters get a whiff of this potential clash and get behind it.

Also, we now wait to see if Ricky Trooper has anything to say as Matterhorn has now made back to back replies to cement his claims.
