Popcaan Says ‘Jealousy Die Slow’ In His New Track: Listen
It’s no surprise dancehall artiste Popcaan has had a bit of experience with jealously. The Unruly Boss has been known to like the nicer things in life, driving luxury cars, flossing several different Rolex watches and wearing the most diamond encrusted jewels you have ever seen. He even bought a snazzy looking house in Ghana recently during his New Years vacation trip to Africa.
Coming from a very humble upbringing in St. Thomas and later in Portmore, St. Catherine, one can easily imagine that a few people back in his hometown are feeling the symptoms of jealousy among others he has encountered in his journey to success. Popcaan has even made mention of this a few times before in songs like Silence and Firm & Strong. Well, jealousy is not something that goes away at the snap of a finger, for some it doesn’t go away at all.
However, Popcaan says that it will die eventually, and he means that in the most literal way imaginable.
Just check out his new track titled Jealously Die Slow, which was debuted on YouTube yesterday, March 14th. The song is also featured on his VEVO page of 1 millions subscribers, 110k of which have logged on to listen to his latest musical release so far, as reflected on the view counts.
In the track Jealously Die Slow, Popcaan talks a big game admitting jealousy surrounds him but he’s not one to tolerate it. Instead, the deejay says to let him be or you will eventually “get a bullet”, according to the lyrics. One line goes, “Tell di p#ssy dem make me drip in peace and rest, no make mi rest in pieces”.
In other persuasive verses, he says “Badmind a murder you neatly, dem cant eva defeat me, oh yeah. Style and mi success a beat dem, heavens. Might buy a new house and shame dem again. Unruly thugs dem, we nuh beg nuh fren, clap eh good rifle bines in a dem. We nuh fraid a nuh boy, nuh care weh dem be, bullet buss yuh head in a three, make e nozzle run hot when we see enemy, wet up anyone we see ”.
So in a nutshell, Poppy makes it known to all who are jelling on his riches to just watch it or get vanquished by his good rifle. Fans are liking the message regardless of its dark nature, its just music right?
