The visual for Hold On has all the elements of stunning Soca scene: beautiful Caribbean women in carnival costumes, a colorful background, popular liquor (in red cups), a view of the Caribbean sea, and of course, dancing and gyrating.

The video, shot in Wynwood, also features popular Soca producers Jonny Blaze and Stadic from the Big Vibe Riddim, who produced the song.

For years, the collective Caribbean culture has allowed dancehall and reggae artists the freedom to dabble in other genres of music, and vice versa.  The popularity of Soca in Jamaica and Dancehall/Reggae in Trinidad has led successful crossovers, even if temporary, of several regional artists.

Konshens is one such Jamaican artist that has been committed to branching out, in recent years. By now, the deejay is considered a veteran in the dancehall and reggae genres, with a success 10+ year career. The artist started out with the massive hit song Winner in 2008, and over the years has dabbled in various genres including reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and EDM. He has also worked with numerous international artists like Cardi B, Nipsey Hussle, The Chainsmokers and Chris Brown, among others.

Since 2018 however, Konshens has made the commitment to becoming more popular in the Soca arena, releasing a number of soca singles like Reunion, Doh Beg, Hooked On Soca, Boost Har Up and Shell It.

He now joins other artists like Beenie Man, Ding Dong, Shenseea, and even Producer, Usain Bolt, as local entertainers that have recently added soca to their catalog.

Soca Virgin is available for preorder on iTunes.  Watch the video for Hold On below:
