Dancehall singjay TeeJay has debuted another reflective single titled From Rags to Riches under the production of Damage Musiq.

The official audio and lyrics are available on Teejay’s VEVO and YouTube pages now and if you’re a fan follower on Instagram, you can see the Up Top Boss singing and vibing to his latest composition as he drives a Mercedes through areas of his home town in Jamaica.

From Rags to Riches is the deejay taking a moment to reflect and ruminate about a couple things on his mind. He talks about losing loved ones, irritation towards naysayers and even the girls that come around acting bad and boujee but ends up just talking a big game. Nonetheless, he sees right through them and their bull.

In the song, he goes on to say that he’s unaffected and he is ‘okay’ – “A tell you say me nah worry bout nothing as long as mi got mi life, I’m doing okay, doing aright, how are you? I am fine”.

The punch line then goes, “Rags to riches, back to the biz, nuff use to see me and ask who me is. Now we got the gun them and lock the b-tches. No boy cyah tame me or track weh me live”. He also boasts, “mi lock the world, some boy doah even lock weh dem live”.

The Up Top Boss doesn’t shy away from singing or talking about his rags to riches journey.  In an Instagram post last month, he shared a photo of his childhood home which also appears on the cover of the new track.  “What you know about. You see the glory but deeply you don’t know the story,” he said in the photo’s caption.

Teejay was recently featured in dancehall singer Moyann’s track two weeks ago called Bruck Pocket Man, basically singing the same tune about riches and good the life. Let’s not forget about his other tracks like Baller, Millions and Stay Scheemin.

Whether he is giving thanks or just feeling blessed, you’ll definitely hear him singing his praises for all this cash he has right now, infused with his usual meditative rhymes.
