Macka Diamond Reveals Older Persona: Mackadoucious – The Granny of Dancehall
While many female artistes are looking to be crowned queen of Dancehall, Macka Diamond wants to be the granny.
Diamond who is known for her raunchy hits like Bun Him and Dye Dye, took to Instagram yesterday and posted a short clip of her new persona Mackadoucious. She claims that this persona can get all the guys.
She added this caption with the video: “After dropping so much tears I’ve come to one conclusion and I hope u all feel better now I’ll be dressing and looking like what u all saying now I look my age all stage show still ago get shell drop some fire for my #2020 new look me look sweet eeh my #moneydiamonds💚💚 #2020 fully booked a #mackadoucious.”

She revealed to the Jamaican Star that the new character will be a part of her future stage shows. She also said that she is using the character as an answer back to all her detractors.
“A ready me ready now fi run out and look how dem wah me look. Dem get me going now because me a go show dem say me still hot all when me old up mi self. A diss dem did want so a diss dem a go get and it nah go stop me from run out and shell show because me talent nuh inna me looks.”
She continued: “If people a beat me up every day say me old and dem see me dress like dat, dem must glad because dem still a go try at me but me just a make dem kill off dem self. But if me ever make yuh hear some voicenote weh me get from people a encourage me nuffi listen the haters, yuh woulda surprise. So more people out deh a say good dan bad. Dem feel like dem win me but I’m good, I’m doing me.”
Diamond whose real name is Charmaine Munroe, became 49 earlier this month.
She went to say that despite the negative comments she is still a highly requested Dancehall artiste.
“Me still a get bookings and me show dem still a sell off and most importantly, me still a inspire people fi check dem self and start live a healthier lifestyle. If me did a listen to haters, me wouldn’t reach nowhere.”
