As the news spread yesterday in Jamaica that Unruly artiste Quada was arrested for murder and arson, social media was set alight with calls for his freedom. Most fans believe he shouldn’t be behind bars because he allegedly delivered justice.

Quada, (Shaquelle Clarke), was officially charged on Wednesday with the offences stemming from the 2019 mob killing of Miguel Williams. Williams was accused of being behind the rape and killing of eight-year-old Shantae Skyers in Sterling Castle Heights, St Andrew.

Quada is suspected of being part of a crew that beat Williams and set him on fire. When Jamaican police issued a public request for Quada to come in for questioning, he turned himself in on Tuesday.

Since that time he’s still been custody at the Constant Spring police.

Some of the fans actually praised his form of vigilante justice. One Instagram user said: “ Killy killy dem crazy now. An if he did do it. Sorry to say but so be It. Itwas for a good cause. An they wonder why I say Pray For Jamaica”

Another added: “A strong feeling is telling me that it’s a publicity stunt them use bout charge for mob killing.” Another fan added: “Dem did want the rapist free? Nobody shouldn’t do nothin bout it? Man a rape eight-year-old and police nah do nothing bout it then when people do something, unu quick fi arrest dem.”

Another fan blamed the system saying: “ghetto yute mek we stay focus cause the system focus pon we zeen.”

On Twitter, fans were equally supportive of the Unruly artiste.

Quada’s attorney, Bert Samuels, told THE STAR that his client is waiting for a court date to access bail and is in good spirits.

“We were trying for tomorrow (today) for a date but we’re not sure if that will happen. We’re going to apply for bail and whether or not that is granted is up to the judge,” he said. “He’s in very good spirits because he is confident in his attorney and the justice system. We have a very good defence and we’re hoping that he’ll be granted bail,” he said.

Samuels also revealed that he and his team are working on their next move, which he said was confidential.
